After reading the next part of Hansel and Gretel we learnt that Dad took them to the woods AGAIN! However, this time we dropped bread crumbs in the woods to be able to find our way back out. We saw lots of animals and felt even worse than we did the time before!
We painted our hands different colours to make some handprints to turn into police men and firemen for our display.
Today we were lucky to be visited by Mrs Godley’s Grandma who talked to us about what it was like during World War Two and her experience of being in hospital.
The children asked some great questions and we all learnt a lot!
We have loved gymnastics club today! The children worked so hard to warm up their body and then learn new shapes using our core.
In this mornings writing lesson I have been so impressed with the following children for their beautiful handwriting and fab ideas! We have been working really hard in our writing lessons to become better Y1 writers and we really are starting to show everything that we have learnt.
Well done, you are superstar writers!!
Over the last two weeks, we have been working on our net and wall techniques. This has meant we have needed to be able to do the ready position in order to be able to pass and receive the ball over the net.
I have been so impressed with how well the children have improved their technique in just two weeks!
Today we have started reading Hansel and Gretel, at the start of the story Hansel and Gretel are told by their evil step mum to go to the woods with their Dad who should leave them there. Hansel thought of a great idea of collecting stones and leaving them as a trace to find their way out of the wood.
This morning in crew we have looked at what is kind and not kind regarding our hands. We did a fab job of organising them into groups.
