To fit with the weather we have had this past few days, we have been playing with the frozen water outside and using different tools to break up the ice. We then plated with the foam and cotton wool this morning and used it as snow. We enjoyed playing with the different textures and creating different pictures with the foam.
Active break times 🚶♀️🎶⚽️
In Crew Marsh the children have really embraced working in small groups during their break and lunchtimes. They have been working on lots of different skills, some new and some previously shown in PE lessons. This varies from dancing and balancing, to target throws and tennis games. It has been great to watch the children grow in confidence and now start to set up these activities themselves, showing great teamwork throughout. We always end our break time by joining one long line and doing the ‘conga’ to collect all of our equipment around the playground before heading back inside. I can’t wait to see what other exciting activities are coming up!

Scotty’s Heroes
This week’s session was enjoyed by all. The children started off playing games to get them warmed up which was evident when all their coats came off despite the cold weather.
They then had to work in pair to give each other instructions while one of them wore a blindfold. Have you ever tried walking in a straight line with your eyes closed? It’s not as easy as you’d think which was why clear communication between partners was vital.

Well we couldn’t get into our forest area due to the rain but that didn’t stop us from getting outside. Crew Thompson enjoyed playing a game of basketball with the Crew Haddock.
End of half term treats
Well Crew Marsh and Crew Haddock had a love treat to the end of our first half term. We had smores and popcorn in the rain.

Crew MW’s School Trip!
What a wonderful day we’ve had at Austerfield! We started our day with an exciting bus journey where we drove through Doncaster and saw lots of new and exciting buildings including the Minster and train station and we even saw a police van!
When we got to Austerfield, we went on an adventure in the woods and collected lots of natural resources to create some artwork with in the afternoon. We explored the hills, the sand, the muddy puddles and the Christmas trees and we found lots of toadstools, berries and pine cones!
Then we enjoyed some delicious dinner!
After lunch, we used our natural resources to create some artwork and to make potions!
We had a lovely day, but we’re definitely ready for a sleep now!
