Our next plot point is about the next two characters we meet on our travels – two rabbits called Roberta and Bobby. Ask us what instruments they play!

After completing one of our science investigations in hook week, we used our previous knowledge to write up the investigation in the form of a scientific report. Here are some examples of our work. We ensured we had a clear aim, hypothesis, independent and dependent variables, equipment, a method, results and a conclusion. Some great writing MI 🙂
For our next plot point in our writing we are describing a bridge and an oboe playing duck called Roady.
Last week, Crew MI learnt all about light. We investigated how light travels and learnt that it travels in straight lines. We explored what would happen if we blocked the light if we moved cardboard. Here are some of our fantastic science reports.
It’s been a busy first week back but we’ve managed to have a lot of fun too. Watch our weekly roundup for just a snippet of the things that we’ve been doing!
In our experience writing lesson today, we packed our suitcase by folding clothes and then walked to Italy where we listened to an Orchestra play.
We cant wait to use all of our ideas in our writing!
During expedition we read the feedback from our independent writing then made further edits and improvements to our work. We then allowed our partner to read our work and they offered further critique before we made our final improvements. Some fantastic pieces of writing!
LKS2 have worked really hard writing their biographies about local people. It has been great to see the children writing with such focus, working really hard on their beautiful work. The children have blown us away with the knowledge they have gained from our experts.
Monday
Today was very very busy, it was the first day of assessments ( which is where we take tests). We were a bit fussy due to been out of our normal routine but we didn’t let that affect our learning. We turned it around with our writing, we planned and chotted our chunk about mechanisms for our non-chronological report. Miss kept our energy levels up with some of our favourite biscuits😋 Well done everyone for trying so hard today!
Tuesday
Today we started redrafting our double page spreads (non-chronological reports) by making our title and introduction. Keep your eyes peeled for these at our expo! Next, we did our reading assessment; miss is getting us ready for our SATS. We had a wet break including extra break! We ended the day with handwriting then had crew and went home. We definitely needed some rest!
Wednesday
Today we enjoyed playing on the guitars and listening to different songs. Well done everyone for having a go at Scotty’s Heroes, it was so fun. Wow…how hard was arithmetic? Get ready for Thursdays test.
Thursday
Today we went into our groups to do two tests- reasoning and arithmetic. We then started our case study 2 reflection, recapping our learning journey. We then made a start on reading our new text, which was very engaging. It was called ’First Woman in Space’.
Friday
Today we did celebration crew and then our reasoning test, well done everybody for working so hard! Then we did a Joe Wicks workout because we were sat down for so long and it was super fun ! After, we did our double page spread for expedition and we are almost finished. After dinner, we then finally finished our double page spreads and ended the day in crew. We appreciated each other (adults and children) for being so positive and working so hard this week. Bring on Monday !
Check out our beautiful writing, we are so proud of ourselves
We’ve had so much fun in provision this morning! The boys really impressed Miss Welburn in the construction area by using the mobile to build models. They followed their instructions and perservered when they were finding it challenging and did not give up! Have a look at some of their creations…
Over lunch time, we explored how to make our own bubble wands. It was a little bit tricky trying to keep our fingers from popping the bubbles, but we got there in the end! Keep up the fantastic work Crew Welburn!
