We throughly enjoyed using our scout skills in Scottie’s today and made our own shelters! We got quite territorial and started adding thinks to make it homely ready for potential survival!
Check out our successful applicants! At the start of term, these Year 6 children successfully applied as Tuck shop coordinators – it was a tough decision as lots of children expressed their interest in the position but these application forms stood out, as they did not just list their strengths they backed these up with examples. They have been outstanding in their role this term and what a great experience! They will be writing their CV before we know it!
Remember to visit our tuck shop, on every Thursday in the Foyer.
Placed around the room were fractions and decimals – once found, we had to write the equivalent. The first partners finished with all correct answers won a prize. This consolidated our fraction and decimal equivalent knowledge ready to move onto percentages.
Today we have participated in various scenarios in order to keep us as children safe. Here’s a few snippets of what we got up to…
We have studied the artist Claude Monet for our Christmas art. We have created drafts in our sketchbooks and applied the brush techniques on wood cookies. We are very happy with the final product!
Y6 got the opportunity to apply for a position that was advertised: Carcroft Tuck Shop Coordinator. The children were taught how to apply for a job, relating it to the real world, using the job description to help fill in individual application forms. The well deserved 3 children were successful and application forms have been saved for the next coordinators in March. Watch this space for the Carcroft Tuck Shop to have its grand opening next year!
In our latest Scotties session we got to toast marshmallows around the campfire and have a Nerf war! Lots of smiles all around!
