If you would like your child to attend please ensure you have signed up before 3pm today! Unfortunately we can not accept payment any later due to organising refreshments and staffing.

All children will enter through their classroom doors tomorrow for the disco at 3.30pm where they will be registered if payment has been made. We ask that children are collected at 4.30pm from their classroom doors.

School Trip Day!

We’ve had such an amazing time on our school trip today! We’ve made fries and took them to the enchanted forest, searched for bears in the woods and made porridge for our Goldilocks and the Three Bears story. Our teachers were really impressed with our listening ears and looking eyes to make sure we were being safe and working hard, and Sharon from Austerfield Study Centre said that she had loved having us for the day! We can’t wait until our next trip 🚌

Foundation Stage’s Biscuit Sale!

Don’t forget to bring your pennies for Foundation Stage’s biscuit sale tomorrow! We’re raising money as part of our expedition for the charity ‘Changing Lives’. We’re hoping to be able to donate some teddy bears to the charity for children who might not have a teddy bear at home to snuggle 🧸

The sale will take place at the end of school tomorrow outside the front of school – we can’t wait to see you all!

Exploring the outdoors in Early Years

As we move into Autumn and Winter, we are really loving exploring the outdoors in our EYFS crews! We’d love it even more if we were allowed to jump in the puddles, make mud pies and explore the water area…but to do this, we need the right clothes! Please can you send us with our wellies and waterproofs so that we can explore our outdoor environments while also keeping our uniforms clean – your washing machines will thank you for it!

An interesting object…

An interesting object appeared in Crew Welburn’s outdoor area this week…it took us a little bit of time to investigate what it was, and what we could use it for, but as soon as we worked it out, we had so much fun! We worked really well as a crew to push, pull and take turns riding on the trolly around the outdoor area! We couldn’t wait to get back out today to have another turn!

Expedition in Crew Welburn

This week in expedition, we focussed on the story ‘The Everywhere Bear’ and looked at the question, ‘How do we care for bears?’. We started looking at how bears are made in factories. Miss Welburn then showed us that we had our very own Everywhere Bear for Crew Welburn. We worked together to carefully stuff his stuffing into his arms, legs, head and tummy, then we added in his hearts for love and kindness, and finally, we velcroed him up. We even had a little Carcroft School t-shirt for him so that he really is part of our crew!

Crew Welburn’s Exciting Expedition

Crew Welburn had an exciting week in expedition last week – we’d had a visitor in our classroom! The visitor had left some footprints leading around the room, which we used to draw a map, and he’d even been caught on the cameras! It was very exciting and we spent lots of time searching the classroom to see if he was still there!
