Don’t forget to send your child’s book bag in tomorrow so that we can change books ready for half term 📚
Final Product Work
Crew Welburn finished our transport models today and finally got to take our photo ready to send off to be created into a jigsaw! We’re so excited to see what our jigsaw comes out as, but for now, here’s a sneak peak!
Fun in the sun! ☀️
We’ve had lots of fun in the sunshine this week in Crew Welburn! We’ve made slides for dinosaurs, transported water using pipes and funnels, and even splashed our feet in our make shift paddling pools to cool off! The children are really developing their independence, curiosity and team work this week, and are working well together to explore how different things work – it is lovely to stand back and watch them forming strong friendships with each other!
The children have also been enjoying indoor provision, and are still excited by our story, Little Red Riding Hood. We spotted a wolf in school last night, so Leon decided to dress up as the Woodcutter to scare him away, and some of the boy and girls even made up a song to scare him off! We hope he doesn’t come back!
Sharing our expedition in reception
We loved having the opportunity to welcome our parents into the classroom this afternoon, and to share our learning journey so far with them! Our children spoke about their expedition, ‘We’re on the move!’ to their parents and shared everything they have learnt so far. The children were really proud of their learning and loved having the opportunity to show this off to their parents 🚗
Fun in XP Outdoors Crew
We had lots of fun outside for crew today! We took our chalks and drew lots of different vehicles. We had rockets, aeroplanes, busses, cars and even trains! 🚗
King Charles III Coronation Celebrations 👑🇬🇧
An exciting find!
In Crew Welburn this week, Aubree found a tiny key! We have been talking about what they key might be used for. We have come to the conclusion that it is for a tiny fairy door that we have found in our blossom tree! We listened very carefully to the tree yesterday and we could hear music coming from behind the door! Aubree wrote a letter to the fairies last night, and to our surprise, the fairy wrote back to her! We’ve given the fairy gifts of bagels and flowers today and lots of us have written her letters today.
I wonder what we will find at school tomorrow…
Stay and engage!
What a lovely afternoon we had with our parents in Reception! We really appreciate everyone coming in and working with us to support their children in junk modelling vehicles to enhance our environment! As usual, the children loved having you in school and they now have some fantastic skills to junk model independently in provision 🚗
Hook week in Crew Welburn!
This week, we are hooking in to our new expedition – Would you travel by wheels, wings or other things? We’ve started our expedition by looking at vehicles within our local area that passed our school and thought about where they might be travelling to. We decided that the cars could be doing short journeys, like to the shops or to work, or they could be going further away to the sea side! We thought that the bicycle we saw was going to work or going home, because it would hurt your legs to cycle all the way to the sea side from Carcroft! When we looked up in the sky, we saw an aeroplane and we decided that this was taking people on holiday to a different country!
Provision fun!
We’ve had lots of fun in provision over the last couple of days and we have loved having our children back in the classroom! We can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings!
