Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 19/01/2021

Another fab day in Crew Wilson today!

Highlight of the day:

Today we learned all about Knights and what they go through in their training. We found out about the different steps they take to become a Knight and loved practising our Knightly skills such as sword fighting, horse riding and drinking beer (that looked suspiciously like water)! Our online learners were getting in on the action too,  well done to everyone for joining in and having fun with us! Watch this space for the training video!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: These go to Aleks and Brandon for their hard work with their writing today, well done to both of you!

Get Smart: This goes to Tommy T for his improving listening skills today, great work!

Be Kind: This goes to Tommy F for his kindness towards his crew today!

Howl Score:

3.6 – some fantastic and honest reflection today in afternoon crew, pledges have been made for how we are going to get our scores even higher for tomorrow!

Tiring Tuesday! 😥

It has been a very busy day in Crew Elmer today!

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be our PE lesson this afternoon. The majority of crew members joined in really well and enjoyed dancing along with Shelly! I was really impressed with how well the children completed every move and that the ones at home also joined in! 💃🕺 BIG thanks to Shelly too for the videos! 👍🙌👏⭐

Todays HoWL average is: 3.4

Wow! Another great day for Crew Elmer! Well done! 🙌🤩⭐👍👏

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

All crew members that are working from home need to ensure that they submit every piece of work that is asked of them to ensure that they achieve 3s for their HoWLs. Also hopefully tomorrow we will have all crew members in school and online as we had a few absences today!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Bobby-Joe! Bobby-Joe has worked hard all day and produced some excellent pieces of work. I was also blown away with his speed at completing his arithmetic and maths questions this morning. Bobby-Joe also got praised for his dancing in PE this afternoon including the enthusiasm that he showed! Excellent work Bobby-Joe! Well done!  👏⭐🤩🙌😁🕺

Crew Marsh:19/01/21

My star moment today was the improvement I have seen in everyone’s writing, everyone concentrated on their handwriting whilst making sure they were hitting gold and green standard. This was great to see! and I hope we keep it up all week. 🙌😁

Average is: 3.1!👌

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh need to continue to be more mindful of putting their hand up rather than getting out of their seat, and making sure that we are listening and following instructions the first time.

Today’s howl hero is:

Get Smart hero today is Millie! 🙌😁😁😁

Millie, I was blown away with your writing today. I could tell you had tried so hard with what content you was adding to your writing! This was amazing to see, keep it up Millie!!

✏👍👏

Good afternoon everyone.

We have had another great day in crew today. We even crewed up and spoke about what crew means to us. We spoke about working together and trying hard in all areas of learning as a family! It was lovely to hear the children speak about what crew meant to them and how they help and support one another daily.

During PE today we extended this learning by playing team games and trying to cross a river as a crew. Stepping on stones one at a time to ensure all the crew were safe.

Well done everyone!

Our HOWL heroes today were:

Working hard: Isaac for trying hard to complete all his English learning and adding an adverb into his sentence.

Getting smart: Darcie for getting “stuck in” to every aspect of the day today and being a pleasure all day!

Being kind: Charlie E for supporting the adults during Expedition whilst also completing his own learning.

Crew Gerrard (19/01/21)

Hi everyone,

We have had another busy day in Crew Gerrard, improving our writing further and continuing to become more confident in our multiplications. I’m sure that if we keep working hard, we will be even stronger with them. It’s been tricky to choose our HoWL heroes:

Work Hard: Ellie-May for becoming really confident with her multiplications.

Get Smart: Amelia for persevering with her multiplications and then getting them all correct.

Be Kind: Lucas. Every teacher has commented on how kind you have been to your peers throughout the day.

Our HoWL average for today was 2.7!

I need to keep seeing that perseverance and better listening skills! 😀

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Grace

Get smart: Kelby

Be kind: Maxi

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.3! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Crew Ferguson Daily Blog 18.1.21

Good evening everyone,

Well what a start to our third week back. The children have continued to work on their fantastic story writing today and wrote a little more of their own rendition of the George and the Dragon story. Today they wrote about what the Dragon could do (using verba) and how the Dragon does these tasks by extending their writing with the conjunction with! 😯 James wrote ‘The Dragon can knock down castles with his strong, long tail”. 🥰

The children are not only working on their independent writing ideas but also on their presentation. This has slowly started to improve, but the children are very conscious about producing ‘beautiful’work in every lesson.

Our HOWL heroes today were:

Working hard: Theo for trying so hard in all areas of learning today and focusing on all tasks given.

Getting smart: Charlie R for returning to school and thinking about his presentation and handwriting in English.

Being kind: James for helping his peers on his table during maths learning by explaining a new concept in more detail.

Well done everyone x

Well done everybody.

Monday ✔

The children were very excited to be back in school today with lots of stories to share about their wonderful time in the snow 🌨⛄️❄️

We have worked hard today to apply our phonics skills in our writing. I was super impressed to see so many children working hard to recall sounds and write them independently.

Todays HoWL heroes were:

Working Hard – Teddy, Noah and Evelynn. I am so proud of how you all, always set a fantastic example to your peers. You always show ‘green standard’ when working on the carpet and demonstrate this effectively in crew.

Getting Smart – SJ. SJ absolutely blew my socks off today whilst writing. He independently wrote three sentences, including finger spaces and beautiful handwriting. He also re-read his work to make sure it made sense and he’d included all the sounds he could hear. Amazing work!

Being Kind – Skyla. Skyla is always so kind to her crew and is always looking to lend a helping hand. She is such a thoughtful and caring little girl.

Being Kind – Grace. Grace was so kind to her crew yesterday. When children were feeling a little upset, Grace was the first one there! She is so kind and considerate, such a credit to our crew.
