Crew Marsh: 26/01/21

My star moment today was seeing the children design their food plates in expedition. It has been fun to learn about what food the Romans ate. Did you know they ate snails and eels eyes? EWW!!! 🤢🤢🤢

Average is: 2.9. Fingers crossed for better tomorrow! 🤞

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh need to continue make sure they are fully concentrating on their learning and listening to instructions, we have been quite chatty today!

Work hard hero today is Max! 🙌

Max has produced some beautiful work today, he has made sure he has stuck his worksheet in neatly and his handwriting has been extra neat. Well done Max!! 😊🙌😎✔

Crew Kent Blog 26.1.21

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Crystal – for amazing effort in her online learning.

Get smart: Grace – for fantastic editing of her writing.

Be kind: Kai – for being helpful and supportive to everyone in class.

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.7! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Crew Gerrard (26.1.21)

Terrific Tuesday! I am happy to hear that the in school we have had another strong day of working hard and I can assure you that I have seen some fantastic work from the online workers (not just Crew Gerrard’s)! It’s been a tricky choice selecting our HoWL heroes, but they are:

Work Hard: Sapphire and Riley for excellent work, especially their reading 😀

Get Smart: Emily for producing some really great answers in reading and fantastic paragraph for expedition 😁

Be Kind: Ellie-May for always smiling and being such a cheerful character 😃

Our HoWL average stayed at 3.2 today guys, so I wonder if we can improve that again tomorrow!

Well done guys! 😆

Ofsted Monitoring at CPS

Dear Parent/Carer,

Just to let you know that Ofsted will be visiting (remotely via Teams) our school this week on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th January to undertake a 2 day Monitoring Inspection of CPS.

The team will be speaking with Leaders/Staff from the school regarding the progress made by the school since the last monitoring inspection in January last year. However, they will also be looking in detail at the education on offer to pupils during the last 9 months since the pandemic began, including the effectiveness of the education offer in which we are providing during the current lockdown which commenced as we returned from the Christmas break.

As part of this process, it is likely that they will have a little look at some of our sessions, such as the pre-recorded sessions provided to pupils and some of the RWI lessons being delivered in KS1 too.

In addition to gathering evidence from staff within school, they shared that they would also like to capture any views form parents as part of their evidence gathering exercise, however, these views must be submitted via Parent View via the Ofsted Website.

I have attached the link to Parent View below. You do have to log in using a username and password, but this should not take too long to do and it would be great to capture parent voice in addition to our voices here on site.

I am looking forward to sharing with the Ofsted Team, how the CPS Crew has come together to achieve some wonderful things despite the pandemic and have looked after each other every step of the way. It has been such an incredible journey and I am extremely proud of what we have achieved.

Thank you,

Crew Ferguson Daily Blog 25.1.21

Good evening everyone.

The children in crew today have been thinking a lot about being kind in all areas of the school day.

We spoke about how being kind isn’t just holding doors for each other or helping our peers pick things up that they may have dropped.  Its about using kind words and supporting each other throughout the whole day.

By actively listening we can become kinder learners and really show consideration of others in the classroom. In the last few weeks since I entered year 2 we have really tried to build a positive relationship together and we have spoken today that our crew is a like a real family. We are working hard to acknowledge each other respectfully and think how others would feel with our actions. Its lovely to see everyone trying so hard.

Well done x

Monday ✅ We began our day with PE with coach Alex. We had lots of fun learning physical skills and moving our bodies in different ways. We practised balancing on one foot, walking backwards and crawling. After this we were all warmed up and woken up to start our day 🙌🏼

We continued our space topic during playdough disco, where we rolled our play dough like a rocket 🚀 and used our fingers to moon walk on our moon playdough 🌚 This really warmed up our fingers and will help us to get strong muscles to write ✍️

We have finished the final stage of our alien pictures, where we learned to mix the colours blue and yellow to make green. We then painted our aliens and added underpants to them like we saw in the story ‘Aliens love underpants’. We have put some up in the classroom so the children can be proud of their work and visitors in our class can see the beautiful work they produce 🤩

We are working hard to teach our new crew members what it means to be kind and the children have made me really proud demonstrating positive attitudes towards their learning.
