Crew Wilson Weekly Review: 03/12/2020

We have had a busy and productive week in Crew Wilson, with a big focus on our expedition learning!

Highlight of the day:

We have finally got started with our final product – sand candles! The Crew followed their designs really well and carefully mixed and poured sand to achieve the desired effect, collaborating and sharing ideas throughout, we can’t wait to show them off!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This Howl goes to Tommy F today for his brilliant effort throughout the week with his writing. He has tried so hard to make his work beautiful, well done!

Get Smart: This Howl goes to April for her fantastic listening skills in our candle making lesson, she followed the directions perfectly and got a great end result!

Be Kind: This Howl goes to Dalton today for his amazing ‘green standard’ effort throughout the week. I can always rely on Dalton to be a role model for his Crew, keep it up!

Howl Average:

Daily Blog Crew Godley 03.12.20

Thursday ✔

What a productive day we have had in Crew Godley today, the children have worked so hard to show me that they are getting smart. We had such a jam packed morning which consisted of –

-2 miles towards our trek to the North Pole, that’s right, two whole miles! They children were fantastic and were treated with a biscuit and juice for working so hard.

-Handwriting – we showed some fantastic, mature attitudes towards this 😊

-Shared story and writing activity ⭐

-Number formation practice 🔢

-RWI

I was amazed we fit so much in, the children worked so hard, we will be certainly ready for Year 1 😊

This afternoon we continued with our expedition learning and explored what it means to be part of a family, just like the Stickman and how we might feel if we were lost. We spoke about how it is so important that we know where we live. Some of the children blew me away that they knew their addresses! This is super clever and I wonder if more children can learn their addresses over the Christmas holidays 🏡

Todays special advent treat is brought to you by Lydia and Kyla.

HoWL Heroes

Our HoWL heroes today are:

Being Kind – Noah was extremely kind today and showed lovely praise towards his peers.

Work Hard – Teddy wrote his name today, focusing so carefully on his letter formation.

Get Smart – Roseanne used her phonics skills today on her writing and wrote the initial sounds she could hear independently.

HoWL average today was 2.65.

We need to improve this next week by ensuring we are following instructions first time and working hard at all times to ensure we get smart! We have shown what we can achieve this morning if we work hard so we need to keep it up 😊

Have a lovely weekend everyone 🎄⛄

Crew Shields – 3/12/20

It’s been a busy day in Crew Shields with finishing off our assessments. The children have really demonstrated their resilience this week by giving all of their assessments a good go and it has filled me with pride watching them using some of their prior knowledge and strategies.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.0

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Next week, Crew Shields need to ensure they are focusing on their own learning and not becoming distracted by others around them.

Our Be Smart hero today is Ruby!

Ruby worked really hard in her reading assessment today. She was underlining key words and scanning the text to help her find the answers.

Crew Mcloughlin Blog 03.12.20

Thank you to parents who have bought their child’s brochure! They have taken these home today. Alongside this, they have taken arithmetic work to complete tomorrow to work from home. This is mostly maths they have been taught in class- if your child doesn’t know the answer I have told them to leave it blank. The children can also go on timestables.co.uk and continue earning virtual medals as I know they are loving this at the minute.

So our HoWL heroes today are…🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

Crew Gerrard (03/12/20)

Hi everyone,

It’s been a really fantastic day in Crew Gerrard and, again, I am really proud of the effort that I have seen. The tests have been tricky, but I have seen a lot of perseverance. It was difficult to choose the HoWL heroes for today, and they are:

Working hard: Belle🦸‍♂️

Get smart: Tyler 🦸‍♂️

Being kind: Hassan 🦸‍♂️

Our HoWL average was 3.0!

Enjoy the extra break and I will see you all on Monday! 😆

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 02.12.20

Wonderful Wednesday! Despite doing test after test today we have still had some wonderful moments! 💕

Star moment of the day:

I am absolutely loving doing ‘Fix It Time’ this week! The children are really motivated to want to get smart quicker and this is shown in their great enthusiasm during these sessions. Today I was blown away with how on task, attentive and willing Crew Elmer were in wanting to improve their place value knowledge, enhance their arithmetic skills and ensure that their handwriting was correctly formed and joined. Well done Crew Elmer! 👏 I am sure that if we keep this up you will all be super smart in no time! 😁

Todays HoWL average is: 2.7

This is the same score as yesterday as despite Hannah returning our average still remained at 2.7. I think this is due to some children’s behaviours during tests today and also a few crew members being unkind at lunchtime today. Hopefully we can fix this tomorrow! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Elmer need to be focused during their final day of tests and also remember to be kind to all crew members at all times.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today Esme was chosen for HoWL Hero by Miss Hart and myself. Esme didn’t get involved in any unkind incidents at lunchtime and showed just how kind and mature she can be. I was also impressed with her enthusiasm during Fix It Time today and her willingness to want to improve her arithmetic skills. Excellent work Esme! You are a great role model to the rest of your peers in Crew Elmer! Well done! 🤩👏👍🙌⭐

Crew Thiede 2.12.20

Wonderful Wednesday 👏🏻

Highlight of the day

The children have worked incredibly hard on their assessments today. Thankfully we also had some time to rest and reset our brains so we could keep going.

This afternoon we went out into the playground and made rangoli patterns with chalk! We had some truly beautiful designs! Did you see them at home time? Which was your favourite? 💮

HOWLs
