Crew Kent Blog 12.10.20

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Lexie 🤣

Get smart: Milena 🎂

Be kind: Mckenzie 😂

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.0! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Well done Crew Kent 👍

World Mental Health Day

Last week we marked world mental health day by wearing yellow and creating our

‘Carcroft Wellbeing Wall’

We raised a fantastic £164.41

Be Kind ❤️

Today is WMHD. We did lots of work around this yesterday with the children in school. But we have also linked our HoWLs work to it too. Over the last week or so, the children and staff have been really thinking about our HoWL ‘Be Kind’ both to ourselves and others.

As part of this work, Leaders tasked children to come up a with with a way that they are going to ‘be kind’ within their local community. This way, we can begin to discuss what it ‘looks like, feels like and sounds like’.

I received a cup cake from Crew Elmer who shared that this was to thank me for my hard work. Beaming with pride right now. It was such a lovely moment. It made me smile, feel proud of Crew Elmer and made me realise how delivering acts of kindness can have such an impact on people. It made me smile for the rest of the day. Thank you Crew Elmer.

Let’s keep being kind to each other. After all, that’s what ‘Crew’ is about. Keep an eye out to find out what your child’s Crew have completed as their act of kindness.

Handwriting superstars! ✏️

This really is the highlight of my week. I love chatting with the little ones and they are trying so hard with their writing.

Then the older ones come came along….

The first 5 minutes blew me away when Zane in Year 5 asked to read his work out loud to the rest of KS2. This is a young man who hasn’t always found concentrating easy at times. Just wow! 🤩

Then we looked at each other’s handwriting. I was impressed by the improvement by every single pupil.

But two pupils really stood out. This was Chloe in Year 3 as her handwriting looked like a year 4. And Darcey’s in Year 6. Darcey’s handwriting can be used by all classes now for our key stage 2 pupils to work towards. Great work girls 🙌🏻

Daily Blog 9.10.20

A fabulous Friday in Crew Flaherty today.

Highlights of the day:

It was lovely to see all the children supporting World Mental Health by donating and/or wearing yellow. The children have enjoyed sharing the things, places and people that make them feel happy.

Learning Legend

Our learning legend this week was Thomas  for striving to succeed in every lesson. Thomas has a positive attitude to his learning and applies his new knowledge and skills to his work. We couldn’t ask for anymore. You are a role model to others in your Crew. Well done Thomas, keep up the good work!

Handwriting Golden Ticket

Maria enjoyed her shake and cake this morning for improving her handwriting over the last couple of weeks. Well done Maria!

HOWLs

Our HOWL average for the day was 3.1. A great score today, well done Crew

Our weekly Crew average was 3.1. Unfortunately a little lower than last week. Let’s improve our listening skills next week and I’m sure our Crew average will increase.

Crew Godley Daily Blog 09.10.20

What an amazing week we’ve had in Crew Godley ❤️ The children have exceeded expectations in so many ways. We have been developing Crews, working independently and using our initiative. The children have shown great resilience and worked together brilliantly.

To finish off the week we’ve celebrated ‘World Mental Health Day ❤

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Our ‘star moment of the day’ was when the children were listing which people and activities which made them feel happy 😊 It was lovely to hear so many thoughts and feelings being discussed so positively.  The children then created their own wellbeing handprints to be displayed on the wall in the hall! Watch this space for the final product! 🤩

We also did some mindfulness yoga 🧘 this helped regulate our breathing and develop our gross motor skills. It was great fun! We also thought about how we could help each other if we were feeling a little sad. We made our very own hearts ♥️ and made them magic by adding an invisible sting. If we are ever feeling a little sad at school all we have to do is think about our heart at home and it will make us smile 😊

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Lily-May for our ‘HoWL hero’ today, for ‘being kind’. Lily-May has helped her friends on numerous occasions today by finding coats, helping tidy provision areas and just being a little star ⭐️

We are so excited to see the children back in school in Monday, the EYFS crew have been very busy creating lots of opportunities outside for the children to develop their role play skills moving into our ‘People who help us’ expedition. Here’s a sneaky peak of what we’ve been up to 🚌 🚗 🧼

Have a fantastic weekend everyone 😊

Lexi has had a great day today.  She has quietly focused on her work and this has helped her to get smart.  She continues to be a great example for us all!

We’ve been really impressed with your HoWLs this week, Troy, and your constant desire to improve in every way.  What has really stood out though is your growing independence, especially with your recent writing.  Keep using the three Bs before me to continue this progress, well done!
