Crew Shields – 15/10/20

Today, Crew Shields had the pleasure of receiving feedback on their Be Kind video. This was shared with Green Top school and we had a video call with them this morning. Green Top were very impressed with the things Crew Shields had come up with and gave us some ideas to think about for the future. We have also enjoyed looking at how Carcroft looked before Bullcroft Colliery.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields are going to continue working on not calling out and putting up their hand.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart hero today is Holly!

Crew Shields agreed that Holly has been working extremely hard in Maths. She completed her learning today independently and was able to apply the skills we have been learning. Well Done Holly!

Crew Boswell – 14.10.20

What a turnaround from yesterday.  Everyone did come back and act on their pledges and we’ve had one of our best days of the year so far!  From the teamwork during PE to the kindness shown during our phase assembly and the enthusiasm during writing.  We have smashed it!

If I could also remind you that Friday will be our rearranged non-uniform day as our HoWL-opoly prize.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.3

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 2.8

I wonder if…

I wonder how we can improve on today.  I think the only real area is working with a little bit more urgency.  Can we do it??

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Work Hard hero today is Max!

What a day Max has had.  After a more challenging one yesterday for him, he’s come back today and shown us all how to act on our pledges.  Let’s keep having days like this, Max, well done!!

Crew Marsh: 14/10/20

In Crew Marsh today, we enjoyed watching everyone’s be kind videos. They brought a smile to our faces to see what other crews had done to be kind in our community. Watch this space for them to be shared on our blogs….

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.2

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow, Crew Marsh need to make sure they are listening and following every instruction.

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 14.10.20

Wonderful Wednesday! ⭐

Today has been another good day in Crew Elmer with lots of fab learning taking place! 😊

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today again there have been multiple moments in Crew Elmer that have stood out to me… like the crew work in our PE lesson today and the maths and computing skills in our computing session this afternoon! However, the ultimate ‘star moment’ was our writing in the ‘Write Stuff’ this morning! The children wrote some excellent sentences using alliteration and the rule of 3. I was also totally blown away by the amount of children that ‘deepened the moment’ and got on to the ‘green standard’ work. Excellent work Crew Elmer! ✍📒✏📝👍

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.2

This is a great improvement from yesterday so well done Crew Elmer! 😁 Lets see if we can keep this up! We are sooooo close to that spin on the wheel!! 😁

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to keep up the good work and of course remember to be kind at lunch times, whether you are inside or out.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today Crew Elmer had lots of praises for each other but there was no way that I couldn’t not give it to this young lady! She has proved today just how incredibly ‘smart’ she is by achieving ‘green standard’ in all lessons taught today! I was completely blown away by the independent sentences produced both in ‘The Write Stuff’ and ‘Hooked on Books’! Amazing work Frankie, you clever girl! ⭐👏👍🤩✍📒✏📝

Crew Nicholson Daily Blog 14.10.20

Another busy in Crew Nicholson with lots of learning, discussions and play 🙌🏼

Today we have continued our theme of people who help us. We have discussed how people help us within school and the community and the children then re-enacted some of these on our outdoor area!

The children have worked hard on their maths activities today, sorting Autumn objects such as pine cones and conkers. We looked at the number 1 again and were number detectives finding number 1 in the classroom 🕵🏻1️⃣

We have also practised our gross motor skills and listening skills doing some games and action songs outside. We enjoyed being sleepy bunnys and aeroplanes ✈️

Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog 14.10.20

Wednesday

Highlight of the day:

We had a lovely afternoon doing COJO and P.E with Miss Thorpe! The children really got stuck in and worked together. It was great to see how much they enjoyed it.

Our HOWL heroes are…

Work hard: Kairen

Get smart: Lylah

Be kind: Bronwyn

Our HOWL average was 2.6 today. Quite a lot lower than yesterday Crew Welburn, lets get that score back up tomorrow!

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 14/10/2020

We have had a wacky Wednesday in Crew Wilson today!

Highlight of the day:

Today has been sponsored by the word collaboration! We have worked so well alongside each other in both indoor and outdoor provision, Cojo and in Theme, helping each other when we got stuck and being the best cheerleaders for each other!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: Dalton – for smashing it in his writing, even when it was tricky.

Get Smart: Luke – for persisting with his model in theme.

Be Kind: Stevie – for showing kindness to her teachers by listening first time, every time.

Howl Average:

2.4 – dun dun duuuuunnnnn!

Quite a large fall from grace for Crew Wilson! Today has been a massive learning curve for the Crew and we know exactly what needs to be done tomorrow to get those scores higher! Green Standard sitting, magnet eyes and listening first time every time, we can do this!

Crew Godley Daily Blog 14.10.20

Good afternoon everyone.

We’ve have had another great day in Crew Godley, all the adults have been very proud of all our little learners. 🥰

Our HoWL heroes constantly demonstrated the green standard today, whether they were in a crew session, provision or working with an adult. They have remembered well what is expected of them during the day and have truly taken this on board during their learning.

The children who achieved this today were:

💚Lily-Mae

💚Roseanne

Keep up the great work you little ⭐’s

Highlights of today:

Phonics.

The children used their phonics knowledge to play phonics Jenga. The boys especially enjoyed saying the initial sound which could be found on each block, before shouting ‘jenga’ upon the towers collapse.

We all had great fun!

Maths

We then worked as a crew to locate objects around the classroom which could be used to represent different numbers. We found we could count pencils/ pens/cubes and even pegs to represent numbers. We didn’t even mind putting them all back once we had finished! 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣
