Crew Ferguson Daily Blog

Good afternoon everyone,

We have had a lovely afternoon in crew today completing some more work on our expedition question. “What mysteries do castles keep?”

We have produced our own time line recording the different castles which were built at different times throughout history.

The children then labeled these castles and described why each of the castles were different.

We had great discussions around why stone was used to replace wood. The children pulled on their prior learning of wooden houses (The Great Fire of London) to explain why wood was not a great material for building castles. Knights used flaming bow and arrows to invade castles and wooden castles crumbled and burnt down quickly.

I can not wait to see what the children produce tomorrow.
