Blindfold Challenge
Last week and this week in XP Outdoors and after school club. We have been doing the blindfold challenge. We have looked at two different ones, hug a tree and sensory challenge.
XP Outdoors
The children in KS1 had a wonderful time at XP outdoors, we were on the hunt for bugs 🐞 🐛
We caught spiders, beetles, worms and ants! We observed their shape, colour and movements.
XP outdoors!
This week in crew, Miss Welburn set us a challenge to see if we could make our outdoor area a little bit tidier and safer by sweeping up the leaves and using the litter pickers to put any rubbish in the bin. We did a fantastic job, working together as a crew, and our outdoor area looks much better now 😁
PE kit reminder
Just a reminder about PE kits:
- Dark coloured bottoms
- Red PE Carcroft top or a white one
- Trainers
- Carcroft red hoodie
If children have Scotties heroes (KS2 children) they will have their session outside no matter what the weather. Please make sure children are coming to school in the appropriate PE kit and coat.
PE days are signposted on all classrooms doors.
Any questions please come ask Miss Marsh 🙂
Litter picking in Crew Godley 🍂
Crew Godley have worked hard to make sure our school ground is looking super tidy!
Litter picking and collecting leaves in EYFS 🗑🍂
This morning during crew, Crew McGlone and Crew Welburn worked together to collect litter and leaves from our playground. We talked about how this would make our playground a safer place for us to play.
Together we collected LOTS of leaves and put them into bin bags – some of us even got to use special litter pickers! Our playground is already looking much better but we are going to continue taking care of our outdoor area so it is a lovely place for us to spend time in.
Wood cookie hanging decorations in Y1/2
We have loved making our wood cookies for our trees at home.
Christmas wood cookie decorations 🎄
This week we have been hard at work in the Crew Mcloughlin elf workshop (aka classroom) making our very own Christmas tree decoration. We followed miss’ step by step guide and were very proud of the results. We are super excited to see them on our trees at home. 😁
Scotty’s Heroes
Due to the rain, Scotty’s heroes took place inside however, that doesn’t mean their survival skills weren’t put to the challenge. Unfortunately, the children were stranded at sea on a dingy (fitting for the weather today) and they had to chose which items were important and why. There was a range of different items chosen but children were able to explain why they thought it was more important than other items.
