Thinking about what family means to us all π
Super Scottys!
This morning, we had a fab scottys session outside. We focused on working as a team and building crew relationships! This is definitely something we are going to continue to work on and develop in Crew Thompson! 🛞💪
Challenge crew in MI
Developing our communication and team work skills in challenge crew this morning π
Caring crew in MI
We started to discuss our families in crew time this morning. First of all, we played a game of swap where we had to move places with others in the circle if we shared something the same. This included brothers, sisters and pets! We were then given different pictures that were cut up, we had to build the pictures thinking about what we could see and what was the same and different. From here we started to think about our own family, we drew them, described them and added words to describe their characters. We then shared our creations with our partners and then the whole crew. Our debrief involved us thinking about our role as a member of our crew. We discussed our ideas well and related lots of our discussions to our howls. A great start to the day in MI π
Crew Hamill – First Week Back!
Last week, we had the best first as Crew Hamill. We worked towards answering our guided question: What does crew mean to me? We worked hard on developing our communication skills and our ability to work together as a team. We took part in lots of activities such as jigsaw puzzles, lego building and baking.
We got to explore our outdoor environment and discover the different leaves we have in our forest area. We used these to create some crew bunting using our fabulous wax creations! Who do you think won the competition to find the biggest leaf?!
What a fabulous first week back!
This week we have been busy establishing a strong crew, building character and getting back into those relentless routines in order to create a safe and happy environment in Crew Mcloughlin. We did this by answering our guiding question βHow can we get everyone to the top of the mountain?β, which will be a common thread throughout Y6. On Thursday morning we took this literally and set off to Langsett Reservoir to achieve our biggest challenge yet. Our journey to the mountain was filled with laughter, great scavenger skills, a desire to be successful and not forgetting chocolate biscuits to help us along the way. Throughout, the crew did nothing but impress, from taking it in turns to carry each others belongings, giving reassuring words to those who needed it the most and even picking up litter left behind. Itβs safe to say I am looking forward to what this year brings as I am already so proud of them all🤩
Crew Thompson – First week back! 🎉
What a first 3 days back! This week we have been working towards answering our guiding question: What does crew mean to me? As a crew we have focussed on developing our communication skills and our ability to work as a team. We have done lots of different activities such as jigsaw puzzles, communication games and baking!
We created a crew bunting from leaves we found in the forrest. We worked together to collect lots of leaves and even managed to find some huge ones!
What a fantastic first week back in Year 3!
