Applying speech in MI

Today we wrote our next plot point as well as using the dialogue we built in our grammar lesson yesterday. Such resilience today in MI, we all ensured we advanced the action and we tried to describe the character a little more. Really great work today 🙂

Speech for our narrative in MI

During our grammar session, we looked at how we use speech accurately and all the features we need to include. After lots of shared ideas and practice, we worked on our own bits of speech for our narrative. This will help us in our writing lesson tomorrow when we start to work on our next plot point.

Final word presentations in MI

Today MI continued to work on their final word presentations reflecting on their howls for the year then thinking about their proudest moments. They used their expedition books from the Autumn and Spring term to support them. They continued to use their checklists to order their presentations.

SATS week is upon us…

Dear Y6,

Well done for your hard work so far, we are extremely proud of your perseverance, resilience and positive attitude towards learning. You have tackled all the challenges presented to you with enthusiasm, and we can see that you are completely ready for the SATS tests next week.

This weekend, we want you to relax and ‘chill out’ – do something nice, enjoy time with your family, read a book, go to the cinema, eat some nice food or play out with friends. Just remember to eat well and get plenty of sleep, to laugh a lot and enjoy your long weekend!

A little reminder…

SATs don’t measure sports

SATs don’t measure art,

SAT don’t measure music,

Or the kindness in your heart.

SATs don’t see your beauty,

SATs don’t know your worth,

SATs don’t see the reasons,

You were put upon this Earth.

SATs don’t see your magic,

How you make others smile,

SATs don’t time how quickly,

You can run a mile.

SATs don’t hear your laughter,

Or see you’ve come this far,

SATs are just a tiny glimpse,

Of who you really are.

So sitting at your table,

With a pencil and your test,

Remember SATs aren’t who you are,

Remember you’re the best!

Above all, we want you to believe in yourself and know that you have done everything that you possibly can to be the very best that you can be. So now is the time to smash it because you couldn’t have worked any harder. Let’s show everyone what Y6 crew at Carcroft can do!

Good Luck,

Y6 Crew x

Arithmetic consolidation in MI

Today we looked at some of the questions we answered incorrectly in our arithmetic paper yesterday. We supported each other, talking through how we answer each question. We then applied our knowledge to some further questions 🙂 Such positive attitudes this morning in MI 🙂
