Another day, another activity packed break time in UKS2. We really appreciate having an endless choice of activities at break times: we love participating in a football match, perfecting our aims in the basketball hoop, scooting, skipping with friends or playing bat and ball, balancing on the trim trail or just having a good chat on the bench 😊

Because it is story telling week, Crew MI spent some time with Crew Marsh and what a lovely afternoon this was. So many smiling faces and looks of pure enjoyment. The children in Crew Marsh shared their new story books with the children in MI. Crew MI absolutely loved reading to the Y1 children, they tried really hard to use their expressive voices to make sure they engaged the Y1 children. They looked at the front cover and blurb and tried to question the children as they read. Everyone really enjoyed the session 🙂 We are now going to arrange another meet where the Y1 children get to read their own book to the Y6 children. We are all really excited for this 🙂 Well done everyone.
A bit windy outside today but the children still loved it. They showed off their exercise skills by keeping fit.
Today MI visited the library and spent some time getting lost in our own books 🙂 We also enjoyed reading to others and sharing our stories.
Today we continued to plan our independent diary entry. We thought about the gold and green targets we had created and started to build some of the sentences we could use in our writing. We added these to post it notes which we will refer to when we start writing.
Today each mini crew was given a story sentence opener! Children had to continue the story in their mini crew then share with the whole crew at the end! Some great expressive voices were used and some great language choices. Well done MI 🙂

In grammar today we looked at apostrophe for contractions. Crew MI and Crew Boswell worked well in groups matching the right words together.
