Remote Learning for Tuesday 5th January 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your kind words and support regarding the current situation. Like you, school leaders and staff were only informed of school closures by Boris Johnson at 8pm last night.

In order to organise school places for all our children of critical workers and vulnerable pupils, and to have live online learning up and running from Wednesday 6th January, staff will be spending today calling families to ensure each and every child eligible for a place in school is offered the opportunity to attend and delivering laptops to those children who will be learning from home who do not have access to an appropriate device.

Today, work will be uploaded to Google Classroom which all children can complete at home without direct support from their class teacher. All children have logged in to Google Classroom in school and should be familiar with how to access the learning set. For those who are unsure or who are having difficulties, we have created a ‘How To Guide’ which you can follow by clicking the link at the bottom of this message.

Your child’s username and password for Google Classroom will be sent to you via Class Dojo this morning. If you do not have access to Dojo, your child’s Crew Leader will contact you by telephone to provide their log-in details.

Last night, an online form for critical workers to complete to request a place for their child/children was sent to parents via ParentPay, Facebook and the school website. This survey must be completed by 11am today so that we can organise in-school bubbles and confirm places allocated to children this afternoon.

A letter will be sent later today via ParentPay, Facebook and the school website confirming plans for in-school and online learning moving forward and families of children who will be attending school will be contacted. We will ensure this is done as soon as practically possible.

Finally, I would like to thank you again for your ongoing support. During the last national lockdown in March, our community came together and proved just how special a place Carcroft is. We are confident that we can do the same over the coming weeks.

Kind regards,

School Closure January 2021

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement we have been notified by Doncaster Council that we now have to move to remote learning immediately.

We will be in contact tomorrow morning with details of the remote learning provision for Tuesday 5th January (this may be mid morning as Teachers may need to adapt plans before uploading learning).

We will soon outline the booking system for critical key worker children as required by the Department for Education.

School will make contact with parents of pupils deemed to be vulnerable who are also eligible for a place within school during the lockdown period. These will take place during the day tomorrow.

We will send further details out in order to confirm final lists for critical/vulnerable school places later on Tuesday 5th, ready to commence on Wednesday 6th January.

We will also then send out a revised longer term plan for remote learning which will take place for those pupils not in school from Wednesday 6th January.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding during these difficult times.

CPS closed to pupils on Monday 4th January 2021

Dear all,

Please find a letter attached from our Director of Education for Doncaster and Public Health England.

As a result, Carcroft will be closed to pupils on Monday 4th January and will reopen to all year groups on Tuesday 5th January at the agreed times adhered to prior to the Christmas break.

We are keen to ensure that our staff feel as safe as they can returning to work following the break and will ensure that tomorrow we review our risk assessment in order to ensure that we do everything in which we can in order to ensure that school is as safe as we can possibly make it for our families returning on Tuesday. We can’t wait to have the children back with us.

There will be no online learning set tomorrow, however, if you would like to set your chid some homework, please could we ask that they practise some quick Maths skills including their timestables recall and basic skills such as mental addition and subtraction (doing this in their head nice and quickly).

We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday morning,

Miss Laing
