Crew Shields – 8/12/20

A very exciting things happened today, Santa came to visit to ensure that the children were rest assured that he would still be making his usual visits despite Covid. The children got to ask questions and received a gift.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.7

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Next week, Crew Shields need to ensure they are listening carefully to instructions and not allowing themselves to be distracted by others.

We have 2 Be Smart Hero’s today as they have really impressed me.

Our Be Smart hero today is Chloe!

Chloe has really applied herself in the independent writing this week and I can see she is trying to ensure she includes features expected in Year 3.

Our Be Smart Hero is Jack!

Jack has really come on in writing since September. He is focused and is starting to write at length. He should be very proud of his progress since September.

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 08.12.20

Terrific Tuesday! WOW! What a busy but amazing day in Crew Elmer today! Some children even said the best day yet! 🙌🤩🎄

Star moment of the day:

Well… I honestly don’t think that I can just pick one ‘star moment of the day’ today! There has been far too many! One of the highlights has to be our dance lesson this morning where the children performed both their Christmas cheerleading dance and their Bollywood dance as part of our Sikhism learning in Expedition. I was blown away by both! Watch this space for videos to come! Another star moment of the day was the children getting to see SANTA!! The children got to walk through the winter wonderland and then were greeted by Santa and his Elf. Santa talked to us lots and even gave us all an early Christmas present to take home! 😁😬🎄🎁🎅

Todays HoWL average is: 3.2

Yay! Today has been another great day in Crew Elmer with lots of children achieving 4’s for their HoWLs today. This has really helped us as a crew to get our HoWL average back up there. I am really hoping that we can keep this up so that we can earn a spin on the wheel! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Elmer need to continue to be as great as they have been today! We also need to work on walking down the corridors sensibly and quietly, especially during lesson times when other children are working hard in their classrooms.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL hero was chosen by Miss Clarke, Miss Hart and I! Which just shows you that this young man certainly deserved to be the HoWL Hero today! We all identified that Leo had worked hard in all lessons today especially in our spelling lesson. Leo successfully completed all of the work set and worked really hard on ensuring that his handwriting was neat! It was also noticed that Leo was being really kind to his crew members today, for example he stopped and tied Rhyleigh’s shoe laces to ensure that she was safe whilst conducting her laps to the North Pole today. Well done Leo! 🙌👍👏🤩💕⭐

Golden Ticket Winner for Handwriting: ⭐✏📝

There have been lots of crew members who have been working really hard this week and last to improve their handwriting so that they can achieve the ‘Golden Ticket’ for beautiful handwriting and more importantly so that they can get a yummy bun and milkshake with Miss Laing! 😋🍰🥛🥤🍪 It was a very close call between the girls but Sienna managed to pip them all to the post as her handwriting has been consistently neat in all lesson which just shows that she really can do it. The neatness of Sienna’s handwriting has really improved this term and she is really starting to slow down and take great pride in her work. Well done Sienna! 👍👏🙌🤩✏📝

Christmas Cards: 🎄✉📪

Just a little reminder that Christmas cards need to be brought into school by Friday 11th December as we need to isolate them for 72 hours before we can distribute them out. 🎅✉📪

Daily Blog Crew Godley 08.12.2020

Terrific Tuesday 🎅🎅

The children have been so excited today to see Santa! We have to creep through the forest to find his magical grotto. It was so lovely to see their little excited faces 😊 The children were very polite and well mannered, they told Santa all about their naughty elves at home.

We then wrote our own letters to Santa to ask him for some of our favourite toys. We used our phonics skills to segment some tricky words. We have popped them into a big red envelope to send to the North Pole ❤ so we are hoping Santa sends us a special reply 🎅

Today’s advent is brought to you by Summer and Reggie.

Our HoWL average today was: 2.85

Our HoWL heroes today are

Working Hard – Summer and Charlie

Summer and Charlie wrote a fantastic letter to Santa applying their phonics skills.

Getting Smart – Skyla

Skyla always works so hard and applies what she knows in her independent work. Her confidence has grown so much this, I’m so proud of you Skyla.

Being Kind – Lydia and Evelynn

Lydia and Evelynn were so kind to one of crew members today when they were feeling a little upset ❤️
