Crew Elmer Daily Blog 19.10.20

Happy Monday! 😊 There were no Monday blues in Crew Elmer today when we knew it was the last Monday before half term! 🙌 The children also loved today as Miss Hart and Miss Clarke got to teach them all morning whilst Mrs Elmer did some exciting planning for next half term! 💻😁📒

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Well my first ‘star moment’ was hearing about the fabulous work that children have been doing at home this weekend! This is fantastic Crew Elmer and I definitely want to see more of this! Working extra hard at home is going to help you to become extra smart! Excellent! I also loved being sent this photos on Saturday of Lacey working extra hard and receiving some great writing from Esme this morning! Fab work girls!

Excited to see your expedition work tomorrow Frankie!

This afternoon in class I was really blown away with our ‘Hooked on Books’ session! 📒 The children were all on task and are now really confident at identify the different FANTASTIC lenses within a given text. I was also impressed with how well some of the children attempted to use the sentence starter and bonus words! There were lots of ‘Book Talk’ points earnt in today’s lesson! Same again for tomorrow please Crew Elmer whist you are being filmed! 🤞👍

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.3

This is a great score for a Monday Crew Elmer! I think I am going to spend the morning out of class more often! 👏

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that they continue to work hard, get smart and be kind at all times! Especially (as I keep saying!) at play and lunch times. Maybe in crew time we can think of some Crew games to help with this?

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today Crew Elmer had some lovely praises for each other 💕😊 However, the HoWL hero went to Harley, who was nominated by both Miss Clarke and Mrs Elmer for consistently ‘working hard’ all day and in every lesson! This is great Harley! Keep this up all week please! 😁🙌👏👍

Crew Nicholson Daily Blog 19.10.20

We began our final week of term with some spooky activities today 🧙🏼‍♀️💀 Hope it was a nice surprise for the children when they arrived at school to see all the staff as witches! I had them tricked I was magic and had some magic spells to keep them quiet 🤣We listened to the story ‘Room on the Broom’ and the children loved joining in with the phrases.

During PE with Kixx, we continued our Halloween theme, pretending to be Zombies, bats and vampires collecting the cones. The children did fantastic at matching colours too!

We made some witches with different shapes and the children worked really hard to identify shapes and put them together themselves in the right places.

HOWL Hero

Working Hard – George

George worked hard listening in PE and he was a great model to his peers, demonstrating what he should be doing and following instructions. Well done George ⭐️

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 19/10/2020

Here we are already; the final Monday of this half term, and we have had a jam-packed day in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the Day:

Today we have finally finished our paper-mache trees  and they look amazing!. As we didn’t have a lot of time to finish them off, some children were painting, some were cutting leaves and some were gluing leaves on a conveyor belt type system, the highlight of this day has been watching the children work together as Crew to achieve their goal. I’ve seen so much kindness been demonstrated between the children, helping each other out and celebrating successes, well done!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This Howl goes to Bobby-J today for his fantastic input in our maths lesson, where we have learned about the greedy crocodile who always wants the greatest number, well done Bobby-J!

Get Smart: This Howl goes to Tommy F, as he has had some time off of school recently, but has come back today and got stuck in with everything like he hadn’t missed a single day, keep it up Tommy!

Be Kind: This Howl goes to Tia for being so kind and offering to tidy up the resources from our Theme lesson, well done Tia!

Howl Average:

2.9

We’ve had a bit of a dip from our 3.0 average on Friday – we have established that we are all tired, but have decided that we need to power through this week and work as hard as possible, then we can have a good rest in half term. Lets aim for those fabulous fours tomorrow!

Monday ✔

What a great start to our week! We have begun our Halloween celebrations by exploring the text, ‘Room on the Broom’. I’m sure if you ask the children they will be able to retell the story with great expression!

You can see the story here 🧙‍♂️

We also began to create our final expedition piece, a banner to celebrate what wonderful things we do at Carcroft. In the words of Shelby, ‘we want everyone to come to Carcroft School. It’s the best place to be’. We used our knowledge of shapes to begin to create the front of the school.

Our HoWL heroes today were:

Working Hard – Noah and Declan.

Noah and Declan worked ever so hard in RWI today, they confidently blended Fred’s words together to say the real word. Declan also asked to practise his handwriting after our RWI sesion had finished – he was certainly ‘getting smart’.

Being Kind – Dylan. Dylan was being kind today by looking after his crew base. Whenever he had finished in a learning area he made sure it was just as he found it, without being asked to do so! Great work Dylan 😊

Crew Gerrard (19/10/2020)
