PP3 – the surge of water 💧

In writing today, we wrote PP3 which was all about the surge of water breaking through the ice dam. We picked up the pace needed in this writing lesson and used shorter sentences for the effect. We used lots of features such as expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbials and even managed to use a simile! 😀 What a fantastic writing lesson! We can’t wait to write PP4 on Monday!

Book Talk 📖

In our book talk lessons this week, we have looked at a different page in our book “Guardians of the planet”. We have read the text, unpicked key vocabulary which we didn’t understand and asked questions about what we had read. We have learnt lots about renewable energy and wind energy whilst adding lots of key vocabulary to our glossary.

Algorithm learning💻

In Crew Marsh, this afternoon we have learnt about algorithm’s – an algorithm is a set of instructions. We had to follow Miss Marsh’s instructions to get the same outcome.

We first looked to see if children got changed in the same order.

After that we came up with an algorithm for Lincoln to follow so he did get changed the same as Destiny.

We then followed instructions to dress the human the same.

Comparing Africa with the UK

In today’s geography lesson we compared different places in the Uk with places in Africa, we looked at Zanzibar, Madagascar and Johannesburg. We were very good at looking at the similarities and differences with Beeley, London and Skegness.

We noticed Madagascar and Beeley were similar because they both had trees and grass but Madagascar did not buildings.

Who’s that trip trapping over my bridge?

Over the past two weeks Crew Haigh have been exploring all things Billy Goat Gruff… we have engaged in the story, in sequencing and responding to the sensory items, made troll swamps, made our own bridges and much more. Well done Crew Haigh – super attention and effort.

Getting a plaster to help are friend 🩹

In our experience lesson today we had to quickly run around the assault course around the playground and get a plaster out of the bag for our new friend Carla, who head a big red bump on her head.

We were fab at getting the plaster fast to help our friend! We also produced some lovely writing in our books.
