In Year Two Maths, we have been revisiting our Shape learning from Year One. Here we are guessing the shapes with our eyes closed based on their physical properties. We loved getting practical with the concrete resources today!

Crew Ramsay loved learning about our character traits and the superheroes which represent them! We made up actions for each hero and did some drama around what this trait might present as in our lives. Here we are modelling our action for ‘Courage’. Don’t we all look so courageous!?

Crew Ramsay have been making David Hockney inspired photography art! Here we are proudly displaying our collages!

Today in Mastering Number, Crew Ramsay got busy making odd numbers on a tens frame. We learned that odd numbers can be made by making an even number and adding an odd ‘1’. We call these ‘Odd Tops’.

Last week, we had a wonderful opportunity to share our narratives with our reading buddies! After spending time learning about Dr. Seuss’s important message of caring for our environment, Crew McLoughlin wrote their own creative stories inspired by The Lorax.
Children read their stories aloud, using expression and enthusiasm to bring their writing to life. Our Y2 reading buddies listened closely, asked great questions and even shared which parts of the stories they enjoyed the most. What a lovely way to celebrate our writing!

In Crew Ramsay, we have been learning about the police for our 3rd Case Study. We have started by learning who the police are presently before we move onto learning about police in the past. We had so much fun acting out different scenarios where the police help us and our town! Here we are being heroes….

In Crew Ramsay, we have been using the Base Ten resources to help us add two, two digit numbers! We used place value grids to see the ones and the tens with our fast maths eyes! Then we could easily calculate the sum of our parts!

In Crew Ramsay, we have been fulfilling our pledges in writing by accessing our ‘Support Station’ for the scaffolding we need. We all know what our areas for development are and what resources can support us whilst we become great. We even go and collect them before we start writing. Here we are, supporting ourselves to become our best! Check us out popping to the Support Station to collect our bits!

Crew Ramsay have been working in groups with our new student teacher, Miss Bagworth to create poppy art for Remembrance Day. We had 2 minutes of silence to honour the fallen and we celebrated by making paper tissue poppies. Here we are getting crafty and talking about our ‘Be Kind’ HOWL for this significant event.

Crew Ramsay headed down to crew Barber to narrate our very own character-driven narratives to a real audience! We took so much pride in our work and loved performing as storytellers. Here we are in action…
