📚

This week we have started reading The Vanishing Rainforest this week by Richard Platt.

We debated whether we agreed with the nabë’ planning on chopping down many of the rainforests trees. All of us disagreed based on this being unfair for the tribe who live in the forest – no forest means no animals and no food for many people. So to make it a debate some of us had to put our acting skills to the test and agree. Some children agreed as more trees could be planted… we listened well and tried to build on each other’s ideas. Great work in reading today Crew Mcloughlin!

Mid week Wednesday

We’ve started reading The Vanishing Rainforest this week by Richard Platt.

We engaged with a ‘conscience alley’ to debate whether we agree with the ‘nabë’ planning on chopping down many of the rainforests trees. Many of us disagreed based on this being unfair for the tribe who live in the forest – no forest means no animals and no food for many people. Some children agreed as more trees could be planted… we listened well and tried to build on each other’s ideas.

This afternoon we practiced different forms of passing in PE. We now are more accurate in passing and aiming!

Crew Shields – 1/2/22

Great team building activity to start our morning after the long weekend.

This was a great opportunity for children to develop their speaking and listening skills but also consolidate their maths knowledge.

Each child had a number on their head and they had to ask their peers questions about their number.

E.g – Is my number a 1, 2, 3 or 4 digit number? Is it a multiple? Is it odd? Etc.

Getting team work right in our crew!

In our team work Tuesday crew, we have been working together to draw images: either by describing to each other what they have drawn or adding to the image some someone else in their crew can finish it.
