Loaded potato skins
The children loved making loaded potato skins in life skills. It was nice to see the children try something nice and i must say it was a big hit for most of them
Tomato time!
Last week, we extracted seeds from a tomato and carefully laid them out to dry over the weekend, getting them ready for planting. Learning the life cycle of the food we eat, with this were planting more edible plants each week. We also watched a video about how tomatoes grow, and the children were fascinated by a time-lapse showing the plants growing taller and taller. They loved seeing how tomatoes start off green and gradually turn red, and were excited to learn that tomatoes can come in many different colours too. We’re all looking forward to watch how tall our tomato plants will grow!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
This term, the children will be learning about Growth and Change. Starting out with the classic story, The Very Hungry Caterpillar! Together, we made our hungry caterpillars; they enjoyed making them move and pretending they are eating, getting longer and longer. This has got them hooked into our new subject of the summer term. We have some exciting, hands-on learning ahead!
Chicken pasta salad
In life skills the children made chicken pasta salad. They really enjoyed having to prepare the ingredients.
Easter buns.
If you’re stuck with lots of Easter eggs, do what we did and melt them to make yummy Rice Krispie buns.
We broke the chocolate into small pieces, melted it in the microwave, and added as many Rice Krispies as we could fit in the bowl.
We shared the mixture out evenly and added our special mini eggs on top!
Took them home to share with family. YUMMY 🙂
Watermelon Pizza
In life skills today the children have enjoyed making watermelon pizza using lots of different fruit and yoghurt
Red Nose Day
This week, we have been baking and decorating some cupcakes for Red Nose Day, and while doing this, we had discussions around fundraising and how baking and selling was one of the many ways we could raise money. We used visuals and videos to explain what Comic Relief is, and the children completed tasks based on money and feelings.
