Crew Godley have had a lovely day celebrating their favourite books, we dressed as our favourite characters ranging from the superheroes 🦸♀️ to princesses 👸 from our favourite stories. We’ve been ever so busy creating our own character masks – we loved Leyland’s Fantastic Mr 🦊 We also shared stories with our peers and went on a story hunt to find our favourite traditional tales, we all agreed that the Gingerbread Man and Jack and the Beanstalk was our favourite!

Crew Godley had a little bit of a different challenge today, we ventured out into the forest to see if we could find some dancing stickmen! We had some great ideas and it was lovely to see the children recreating stories with their dancing sticks 💃 🕺

In Nursery, we are loving getting our body moving when doing the wiggle dance by DannyGo. We are practicing good listening and copying to make sure we are doing the moves properly!
In crew this morning, we continued to work as a team to achieve a common goal. Todays aim was to see how many pieces of paper we could hold with body parts. We had to work in mini crews and follow certain rules. Only one piece of paper could be held between two body parts, each sheet had to touch both crew members and the pieces of paper could not touch. It was super tricky but we managed to get some pieces of paper to stay!

Today in Citizenship crew we continued looking at our rights and the rights of others. We discovered that showing respect for others is really important, to ensure everyone feels safe and cared for. We looked at different scenarios and sorted them into two groups, those that showed respect and those that didn’t. We had some really interesting discussions and Oliver again blew us away with his knowledge and understating of social norms.

We have started our new text today, Lost and Found. The boy unexpectedly found a penguin on his doorstep 🐧 They little boy was confused as to who it belonged to and in order to find out where he had come from they visited lots of places. His first stop was the park. He saw lots of noisy children and chirping birds who ignored the little boys plea for help.

Crew Haddock would like to thank the kitchen staff and all the parents that came and supported us in today by buying buns to help raise funds for our school trip. We raised £92.68🧁

During academic crew, we had a gallery walk looking at our presentation and how we can continue to improve it.
This morning we looked at what it meant to be “fit as a fiddle”. We investigated what it meant to be physically and mentally healthy where we were able to use our knowledge from Mindful Monday crew. We then looked at how we can keep our head, heart and muscles healthy. We came up with some great ideas for example, exercise for 30 minutes a day, eat your 5 a day, drink plenty of water, get lots of sleep and play with our friends. 🍎💧🏃🏻♂️ We then sorted out the different things into the correct box.
