Today in Crew MI the children have been making sunflowers to put in our xp outdoor area. This will brighten up the forest as well as showing how to welcome spring.

Crew MI egg painting
Well done to Maddie and Jake for winning the egg painting competition . They looked amazing!

Hedgehog house!🦔
In KS1 as a team we have created a hedgehog house for hedgehogs to hibernate in. It is part of our welcoming spring topic in XP outdoors. We can’t wait to see the forest tomorrow!

Drama/Dance
This morning the children took part in some drama and dance during their PE lesson. They had to act out particular words but put some dance moves with them. A great job done by all.
Eggcellent Competition
It was lovely to see so many children take part in the egg competition. You could see they’d really put some though into their design. I especially loved the Black lives matters theme which linked to our current expedition.
A huge well done to everyone that took part.

A even bigger well done to the winners… Chase and Izzy- voted for by their peers.

Chotting for our character description
We have started to gather y6 quality vocabulary, phrases and figurative language to help us with our writing. We focussed on the appearance of the character from our newspaper article and then applied some of the chotting we did to our own sentences.Â

Angles continue in MI
Some fantastic collaborative working today as we explored angles at a point.

Character descriptions in MI
Today we used our chotting ideas from yesterday to start writing our plot point on our characters appearance. There was some great language being used along with figurative language 🙂

Learning to ride in Y1 🚲
We have loved learning to ride our bike without stabilisers!

Crew Challenge
This morning in crew, the children worked in small groups to first of all decide on a set of instructions and then show these to another member in their crew However, the challenge was to verbalise the set of instructions rather than repeat them which is an activity they do in  PE.
Afterwards, we debrief the skills that they were learning such as listening, communication and retaining information. Children shared they found this more complicated as we increased the amount of instructions they had to do.
