In maths we consolidated our knowledge of FDP equivalents and algebra. We really showed collaboration and that we have still got our knowledge from being taught this months ago! 🤩

So in magic maths today we were playing maths games and using our knowledge to work out the answers.
Crew MI took their reading outside today in the lovely sun , they had to workout and draw a 5 foot hole on the floor using chalk as this was the size of the hole that was dug. Then before we finished reading chapter 7 we did a few freeze frames.
This morning we headed to the forest to play forty forty for our challenge crew; its just like hide and seek but with a twist. We had to excel in communication and teamwork skills and ensure we made it back home to our base! Well done Crew Mcloughlin.

Today our challenge crew was to follow a simple instruction: “build a tower of shoes”. After enthusiasm saw multiple towers, we worked together to build one taller tower which we then measured. The question is, can we do better next time? And before you ask, we took it outside to enjoy the weather, not because of the smell! 😉
Last Friday afternoon, Crew FE had the opportunity to receive some First Aid Training to enable them to deal with some situations such as chocking and scalding. We spent the first part of the session learning about chocking and how to deal with someone who might be chocking. We learnt that if they are coughing then let them cough but the moment they are silent and turn blue then we must give them 5 back slaps and if still chocking, 5 further abdominal thrusts. Scary stuff but very worth knowing! Miss Burge and the children enjoyed demonstrating this with each other! We also then learnt about burns and the different types of burns such as chemical, hot, cold, friction and wet, and what examples of these looked like such as wet = cup of hot tea. We learnt how to deal with burns with the two most important things being: apply water for 20 minutes and then cover with cling film, yes cling film! We finished the session with learning who we should call in an emergency and what we should say. A very beneficial session and I feel that we have all come away learning something new and vital!

This morning, we worked in pairs to play table football and other challenges. It was quite tricky to control but then we kept on practising.

In our story ’The Man on the Moon’ it is Bob’s job to make sure the moon is clean and tidy. CrewRobson made sure our playground was clean and tidy too with a spot of litter picking! Great work crew!

This weekend Rosie enjoyed spending time with Mila and Miss Holdsworth. They read books, sang songs and even went to a bbq! I wonder who Rosie will meet this week?
