The children have learnt all about comic relief and why we fundraise today. We have enjoyed coming to school in our non uniform and silly hair and here are just a few of our children raising funds for such a worthy cause.
We have spoke about fundraising and how this shows kindness to others who may not be as lucky as we are in their lives.
Today we have continued to write our persuasive letters. Children are working so hard to ensure they are using their target grids to support their writing and we are really impressed with the quality of what they are producing. We should finish our letters tomorrow and are looking forward to reading them out loud to each other. Here are some examples…
The children impressed their teachers this morning, as they came into school and within minutes were on task completing their morning learning.
They have worked hard on their handwriting and can now write their first names independently with most children also writing their surname without support.
Well done Crew FE keep up the wonderful attitude towards your daily tasks.
LKS2 were lucky to visit XP today, as they recorded their song. We have been working on this during our music Case Study, as part of the final product that the Trust are making. This includes all Year 3 and 4 pupils writing, singing and recording their own parts of the song. The children sang beautifully and should proud of their efforts today!
Keep an eye out for the final product – we’ll share it as soon as it is fully completed. For now, enjoy some snaps of the recording session!
Today I’ve reflected on how far we’ve come as a crew this year and I truly believe this is down to our support and compassion for one and other. Each week we complete our Crew Challenge and this week has shown how much trust we have in each other. Our challenge was to work in smaller crews and pass water down the line, backwards, whilst we remained forward facing. The trust, speaking and listening skills and support for each other, absolutely blew me away. I’m so proud we have such a caring and resilient crew. Here’s a few photos of this weeks challenge and ones we’ve carried out in the past! We can’t wait to see what next week brings! #wearecrew
This week in Crew FE we have been continuing our focus on the Gingerbread Man and putting our problem solving skills to the test! We have been thinking of the different ways the Gingerbread Man could have crossed the river safely, and decided that a bridge or a boat would have been the best solution.
The children have been using different resources in the provision areas to build bridges, experimenting which materials would work best and how they could make their structures stronger. We have looked closely at floating and sinking and will continue to test which which materials would work well for a boat next week.
This afternoon the children were tasked with another challenge. How could they travel across the hall when only being allowed to stand on the mats so they didn’t land in the ‘water’? As usual the children applied themselves brilliantly, quickly realising that they would need to work as a team to be successful. The challenge gave us lots of giggles and showed the true meaning of Crew.
