This week, our learning has been based around the story The Gingerbread Man.
In Writing, we listened to and watched the story before working on putting the events in the correct order.
During Life Skills, we enjoyed making our own gingerbread men. Then, on Friday, we had the big treat of decorating them before getting to eat our delicious creations!
In Maths, we explored numbers up to 10 using a Gingerbread Man theme. We also spent time exploring and enjoying our reading corner.
We have been undertaking various crew challenges this week to really pull together as a Crew. Here we are using stepping stones to cross a lava and ice river. We worked together to pass the steps along our line and step carefully, holding each other up all the way! We also Great work, Crew Ramsay!
Crew Ramsay are proud to be the new owners of a new Year One Classroom and a new way of learning. We have a Continuous Provision Setting with various areas of enhancements such as Maths, Reading, Writing and Expeditions. This week we are learning to make good choices in our ‘Choosing time’ which will look slightly different to EYFS choosing time. In Year One we lead our own consolidatory learning by accessing Rainbow Challenges. We are determined to complete all 5 by Friday when Miss Ramsay will check our progress! Here we are practising our learning in the various areas. What brilliant learning we are doing!
Today we have been busy learning about kindness through our story ‘The Rainbow Fish’. We discussed the impact of being kind on the people around us and went on to begin a FWB Art project. Here we are sponge painting our fish ready to add the scales and eyes tomorrow! We will be creating a Kindness Fish Tank Display. This display will remind us to be kind to each other, as a good crew. Well done guys, beautiful crew building and beautiful work!
