This week Crew Mcloughlin had their second guitar lesson and loved every minute! Our highlight was clapping along to our music instructor playing and singing ‘Sweet Caroline’. Maybe it will be one of us playing a tune on the guitar soon😬

In todays PE session, we developed our throwing skills in dodgeball and our sportsmanship shone through. ✨ Many children stood out for being ready for upcoming dodgeball tournaments in the future. Well done Crew Mcloughlin and Crew MI! I throughly enjoyed teaching todays PE lesson!

In Crew Shields, we have been chatting a lot this week about taking ownership of our learning and how important it is to practice the areas that we know we find a little tricky. It was great to see some children bringing in some of the things they have been practicing. Keep it up Superstars.
What a fun day we’ve had in Crew Welburn! We’ve learnt all about being kind to wildlife in crew and made bird feeders to help the birds over winter. In provision, we explored leaf showers, swept our outdoor area to make it nice and safe, and created a whizzing rollercoaster from our pull along trolly! It has been lovely to hear all of the children laughing and sharing kind words in our crew today 🥰

Crew Shields have been busy today getting familiar with non chronological reports. They worked in pairs to identify the features and started to consider the layouts they like in preparation for their own non chronological report.
It was great seeing Crew Shields text marking this morning and highlighting the vocabulary that they were unsure of. They know how important it is to understand the vocabulary in the text as this supports their comprehension.
Unfortunately, UKS2 were not able to complete their netball tournament. After 1 and a half games, the heavens opened and soaked us to our bones. The tournament was then cancelled.
Despite this, we were so excited to get playing and give it our very best, in a sport where our experience is limited. Even though we only played for a few moments, we learned quickly how to play effective netball. Finding space, speedy passes and using team work to score a goal.
Sadly, we will have to wait before we can play anymore games in a netball tournament. Check out our photos, including our Mrs Rhodes brolly photo. It wouldn’t be a tournament without us being huddled under the brolly!

Thank you to all of the parents who made it to the phonics workshop today – it was lovely to see so many of you! Here’s the video to support how to say the sounds to support your children at home. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to speak to me ☺️
A great job by Crew Shields this afternoon as they supported the rest of the crews with keeping our school community clean and safe.
They had a short time outside but managed to fill a couple of bags with rubbish. The most fascinating thing found was some small bones so only naturally they had to have a picture taken with it.
