In our writing lesson today we generated a range of adjectives to describe the trees, grass and birds in our picture. We got to feel the grass, bark and twigs and listen to birds tweeting.

You will have heard in the news that the NEU have voted to undertake strike action over the coming weeks. This means that many teachers across the country will be on strike over four days in February and March (please see the dates below).
At this early stage it is not clear what impact this will have on our school, or schools across the Trust. I do, however, urge families to have a ‘Plan B’ in place for childcare on the dates listed below, in case of a full closure.
I will of course, keep you informed as much as I can over the coming days as details emerge.
Intended strike days:
February 1st
February 28th
March 15th
March 16th
It was challenge crew yesterday morning and it was too funny not to share. The children worked in pairs to take it in turns to give instructions on how to draw something. They soon realised that they had to have good communication skills and be really clear and specific with their instructions to make sure their partner knew what to draw. It was such a great activity which we call enjoyed. We were all laughing our heads off! Here are the results… some are better than others!! Have a great extended weekend.

Some great examples of gymnastics during PE.
Children had to jump from the bench and practice using pike, straddle, tuck, star, half turn and full turn after they jumped.

During Science, we have been investigating how we get shadows. To achieve green standard, children had to explore if they could prove whether light travels in straight lines or not.
By the end of experiment, children were confident that light travels in straight lines and that we have shadows due to an object blocking the light source.

Over the long weekend, we are asking children to read chapter 3 and 4 of our class reading book ‘Clean Getaway’. We know they’ve been really enjoying reading this in class and would like to give them the opportunity to read for pleasure at home. Happy reading! 📖
