Please see below an urgent message from Gary Davenport, Station Officer for South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue.
Dear Parent/Carer
Since the Tragic events in Solihull involving young people playing on Ice, It has come to our attention that young people in the North Doncaster area are also taking the opportunity to play on frozen lakes and ponds.
This obviously carries enormous danger as evidenced in the tragic incident in Solihull.
Please speak to the young people in your lives and express the dangers of playing on frozen ponds and lakes, especially as the weather is due to become milder and therefore the ice will begin to melt.
Stay safe.
Gary Devonport

It’s been such a lovely afternoon in Crew Shields as we enjoyed our Christmas party.
Party food, musical statues, pass the parcel, four corners and even popping balloons with their bottoms. Who never trying to pop a balloon with your bottom could be so funny?! haha It was even better that they were good sports and completed their forfeits. Maybe next time, all the balloons will have a forfeit considering they were happy to participate.
It’s been a great way to unwind after a term of hard work from all the children.
We have loved making our wood cookies for our trees at home.

Just to clarify, the children can come in their PE kit ready to get changed for the Christmas Party!
LKS2 would just like to say a well done to the children for their performance today and huge thank you to adults for coming. We couldn’t quite believe how many attended.
We hope you enjoyed the show and seeing the beautiful work that the children have been able to create throughout this Expedition about the Second World War!

The learning expedition culminated when we hosted an education expo at school to share our learning journey with parents and family members from the local community. Here, we demonstrated our understanding of space, forces and computing through a range of presentations, films and live investigations as well as explaining just how movement affects our world. We have compiled this into a video as a celebration of learning to create a lasting legacy of this expedition. We also hope that this event has given the local community more reasons to become involved in our school life and appreciate our everyday journey in working hard and being kind to get smart. Check out our final product here incase you missed todays celebration of learning.

Thank you so much to parents who have been involved in the presentation and celebration of learning, it is very much appreciated. The children have loved showing off their learning to you and heres to another great term of expeditionary learning!

This week we have been hard at work in the Crew Mcloughlin elf workshop (aka classroom) making our very own Christmas tree decoration. We followed miss’ step by step guide and were very proud of the results. We are super excited to see them on our trees at home. 😁
