Healthy Eating Truck Competition

To celebrate Healthy Eating Week, everybody in Year 3 and 4 designed a new Aldi truck to align with their competition in partnership with the Olympics. Across Year 3 and 4, everybody designed a truck for our own mini competition. Everyone worked hard to create a healthy food truck, with unique and wonderful designs which made it hard to choose a favourite from each crew! Well done all of Year 3 and 4!

Read…Read…Read…

On Friday, in Crew Pashley, we celebrated Pjarmarama Day by completing different reading activities in our comfy clothes. To kick start our day, we designed new front covers for our hook book ‘The Flood’. Here are just a few of our favourites!

We experienced our very own Carcroft Starbooks, even trying some tasty book themed treats!

To finish off our FUN day, we chose our favourite books to read outside in the sun with a cool ice lolly.

Clever construction 🧱

There has been lots of construction happening this week! We’ve been making car parks, rockets, towers… all sorts! We’ve taken some inspiration from the example pictures in the construction area and we have also added our own ideas and concepts too. Olly even decided to draw his ideas out first before beginning to build his creation with Hunter. There has been lots of teamwork, resilience and trial and error – fantastic work Crew McGlone!

Super letter formation! 🖊

Arya has really been enjoying her phonics lessons and has been using role play to work on her letter formation. She has been teaching the ‘m’ lesson and did a beautiful representation of Maisie, mountain, mountain – you can even spot Maisie stood next to the two mountains! Excellent work Arya!

New additions to EYFS 🐣🐥

This week we have welcomed 15 new, fluffy arrivals to EYFS 🐥

The eggs arrived earlier in the week, and we watched the incubator in anticipation to see if we could see any movement or cracks appearing.

After a couple of days, we came to school one morning to find that some of the chicks had hatched overnight and were starting to fluff up in the warmth of the incubator! We could hear them cheeping and we could not believe that they had come out of something so small!

That same day, 5 more eggs hatched and we were lucky enough to watch some of them happen in front of our eyes! We had some visitors from other crews in school – everyone has been so excited! The following day, the remaining 5 eggs had all hatched too and we now had 15 new arrivals to look after. We had to wait until they were fully dry and fluffed up before transferring them to their brooder box.

We made sure that the brooder box was nice and cosy for them, switching on the heat lamp and making it comfortable, as well as sorting water and food out for them. Since then, we have been watching them getting to grips with their first few days out of their eggs. They are so cute and we all love them so much! Now that they are a little stronger, we will be able to hold them if we want to! We can’t wait to spend the next few days with them before they go off to their new homes with some of the very lovely staff from our school! 🐥

Teacher Swap 🧑‍🏫📖🔄

Today, as part of ‘Pyjamarama Day’ some of our teachers got to do a swap and read to another crew! Staff and children loved this so much when we did this last half term that we all wanted to do it again, and again it was a success! The teachers loved going to another crew and sharing their favourite book/s and the children loved welcoming another teacher into their crew and getting to experience listening to a new book! Some children also got to experience children from another doing a swap and coming into their crews to share a story, this was lovely to see the older children in school sharing a story children with some of our youngest!
