Maths v’s PE!

Today 2we had a super fun PE lesson! Coach Luke had planned lots of maths problems for us to solve as crews and set up PE activities for us to work through in order to complete our tasks! We were given a number problem to solve, used our maths skills to solve it, bounced the basketball to the hoop, scored, and then we had to find the answer to our problem on the envelope to get the next clue. We worked really hard to solve these and got really smart!

Crew MI Maths

Today the children got to complete more active maths activities. Children took part in the activities they didn’t complete yesterday. Some visited Crew MI’s money shop and some completed a series of activities in the hall.

Here children are throwing tennis balls into place value boxes then working out the number. Children also worked on their recall of times tables as well as mental addition and subtraction.

We look forward to more activities tomorrow!

Crew Marsh PE/maths lesson

In PE today, in smaller crews we had to use our PE skills and timetable skills to match the clue with the answer.

The winning team was: Chase, Reece, Shiloh, Alicia, Georgie, Ruby S, Jack, Kaleb and Keaton.

Marvellous measuring in FS2.

The children in FS2 today have been discussing their expedition theme and exploring celebrations a little more. We have tried popcorn and discussed if we should serve this at our own celebration party later in the term. Everyone had a taste by measuring out amounts using cups and beakers. The children were very careful to ensure everyone had an equal share.

The popcorn was delicious!

Creative Crew!

Crew nursery have really impressed their teachers with their creativity this week! They have enjoyed talking about the beautiful fireworks that they saw during bonfire night celebrations and they have created fantastic firework art using a lot of different media!

Crew Longley – Maths Week in PE

This week, we have been using our maths skills in our PE sessions. First, we have estimated, counted and comparing the number of each exercise we completed.

In our session with Coach Luke, we had to answer maths questions before moving onto the next station.

Year 3 maths week

This week we have been learning how to multiply. The children have worked hard in mini crews to complete a range of different tasks with many successes. It is lovely to see the children engaged in their learning and excited about maths
