We’ve been looking at ABAB patterns in maths and we decided to use dinosaurs to make our own!

We have been learning all about how to keep our teeth nice and clean, and why it is important for us to do this. To begin, we practised using a toothbrush by acting out the steps needed to brush our teeth. Miss McGlone then gave us out very own toothbrush and we did a super job of using it to brush backwards and forwards, up and down making sure we had got into all the sneaky spots. Brushing our tongues is also super important so we practised this too – it really tickled!

In provision, we had lots of fun because we had to use the brushes to clean the sets of teeth! They were so dirty and covered in food and bacteria so we used our brushing skills to make sure they were squeaky clean – we really enjoyed this activity!

As part of our final product, we used sponges to print a pastel colour onto a plant pot. We will be filling our plant pot with compost and planting daffodil bulbs in them so we can watch them grow! 🌼

Today MI visited the library and spent some time getting lost in our own books 🙂 We also enjoyed reading to others and sharing our stories.

Today we continued to plan our independent diary entry. We thought about the gold and green targets we had created and started to build some of the sentences we could use in our writing. We added these to post it notes which we will refer to when we start writing.

Today each mini crew was given a story sentence opener! Children had to continue the story in their mini crew then share with the whole crew at the end! Some great expressive voices were used and some great language choices. Well done MI 🙂

Today we learnt about he importance of personal hygiene and how to show our hands properly. There are 10 steps to follow!

We’ve had so much fun shopping for our ingredients today!

In magic maths we have been recapping angles. This was a great opportunity for the children to get up and moving by showing acute, right angle and obtuse angles using their arms.

We have kicked off Storytelling week by spending time reading our library book to a partner.
We used this as an opportunity to listen to different genres as some children find it difficult to decide on the genre they like to read.
The crew enjoyed this and this is something we’ll try to do more often.
