To conclude our day of play we enjoyed a toy afternoon.
I was so proud to see children sharing their toys, using manners and engaging in purposeful play.

Today we were lucky to take part in a DGLAM workshop all about the history of toys.
We learnt about how toys have changed, the origin of Teddy Bears and how Doncaster’s most famous bear was made in Adwick.
We also got to play with lots and lots of different toys. We had a great time!

As part of our Hook Week activities we will be holding a Toy Afternoon on Wednesday 2nd September.
Children are allowed to bring one toy into school to play with during the afternoon.
Please ensure it is named and can be kept in a carrier bag on their peg until the afternoon.
Thanks

This week, our learning has been based around the story The Gingerbread Man.
In Writing, we listened to and watched the story before working on putting the events in the correct order.
During Life Skills, we enjoyed making our own gingerbread men. Then, on Friday, we had the big treat of decorating them before getting to eat our delicious creations!
In Maths, we explored numbers up to 10 using a Gingerbread Man theme. We also spent time exploring and enjoying our reading corner.

CrewRobson loved taking part in Tough Runner this morning.
It was lovely to see everyone challenging themselves and showing courage and resilience.
Well done Crew!
What an amazing first week back we have had; I have been so impressed with the resilience and maturity of everyone and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together this year.
Here are just a few of our highlights!
