Work inspired by Dennis Creffield 🖼️

As part of our expedition we have been looking at the British artist, Dennis Creffield. He used charcoal to draw every cathedral in England. We have been using charcoal to draw our school building. We have also thought lots about re-drafting and how we can use kind critique to help each other improve. These are a few of our final pieces 🏫

We have started creating our background to produce our final piece of art work, watch this space……

Dennis Creffield inspired artwork

As part of our expedition we have been looking at the British artist Dennis Creffield. He used charcoal to draw every cathedral in England. We have been using charcoal to draw our school building. We have also thought lots about re-drafting and how we can use kind critique to help each other improve.

Exploring the work of Dennis Creffield 🖼️

Today we explored the work of Dennis Creffield. Dennis was a British Artist, in 1985 he was asked to draw every cathedral in England. To do this he used charcoal. We looked at how charcoal was created which linked to our case study on Firefighters. We began to create artwork in the style of Dennis Creffield by drawing our school. We used Austins butterfly to critique our work and improve it. We can’t wait to share our next draft.

Perfect Prints!

Crew Hamill worked really hard to complete their art project last week. Over our first 3 days we carefully designed a print that was inspired by “What makes me, me.” We created a draft of our design which was something that represented us – our house, our pets, our hobbies. We then transferred our designs onto cardboard and carefully added string, meticulously following the lines we had drawn. Finally, we painted our string using two different colours and printed this onto card. We’re really proud of our results.

Our first week as Crew MW! ✨

It’s been a fun-filled first week back in Crew MW. We have been extremely busy exploring our new learning environment, working together in provision and catching up after our summer holidays. We have particularly enjoyed playing in the home corner, listening to stories on the Yoto player, and getting our groove on in the music area!
