Today we have read the next part of our story, where Bob gets changed to board his rocket ship. We loved boarding our class rocket ship and completing a crossword to keep ourselves busy.

Today in Crew Thompson, we celebrated World Ocean Day! World Oceans Day is all about protecting the ocean. A healthy planet needs a healthy ocean, but our waters face huge risks from overfishing, climate change, and plastic pollution. Luckily, we can help! We came up with lots of great ways to protect our oceans such as: recycling, picking up our litter and not using as much plastic.

This morning in crew we had the pleasure of viewing the art work of Kaylum and we have decided that children will have more opportunities to share their interests with us.
Kaylum is a budding artist and often brings in stuff for our tabletop display. He has brought in his sketchbook from home today and we are truly blown away. I’m sure you will as well.

We have set Kaylum a challenge – Can he create us a sign for our door that says Crew Shields surrounded by images that reminds him of people in the crew. Watch this space…
Well done Bohdan! Bohdan has read over 100 times since starting our reading journey in Crew Thompson! Keep up the great work, Bohdan! 🥳🎉

In Crew MI, we have been learning about pie charts all week and today was the day we learnt how to draw them. It was tricky at first because we had to work out how many degrees each segment would be then we used a protractor to measure accurately. We got there in the end.

So at break time the year 6’s played cricket. They achieve lots of team building.

Today, year 6 children met the author P.G Bell, the writer of THE TRAIN TO IMPOSSIBLE PLACES.
We even got to ask him a few questions!

This morning, our check-in was to spell out our names using exercise although we did tweak it slightly to make it more classroom-friendly. Here’s a glimpse of what it looked like. Do you think you could manage to spell out your name?

This half term, children will be preparing for sports day so they’ve started with the basics – running.
