Student Led Conferences in Crew MI

A massive well done to those children who took part in their SLC today. You really did showcase yourselves in the best possible light. I am so proud of how you all delivered even when you felt extremely nervous. All your hard work really did pay off! I can’t wait to listen to more tomorrow!

Crew Welburn, Crew Longley and Crew Godley Trip

As part of our Summer Term expedition, we would like to take the opportunity to take our KS1 children to the Beamish Museum in Durham. The visit will be a full day where the children will have the opportunity to see what school was like if they were five or six years old in the past. Children will also have the opportunity to discover the games of the playground and take part in an infant lesson in the kindergarten of a Victorian school. Beamish also presents a unique insight into the living and working experiences of life in the Great North offering unrivalled learning opportunities.

Please ensure that children are wearing school uniforms and sensible shoes. Children will also need to bring a water bottle.

The children will be provided with a packed lunch from school.

The trip is on Wednesday 15th June 2022. The coach will collect us from school at 8:00am and it will return at approximately 5:00pm depending on the traffic.

Children will need to be at school by 7:45am

Please note: All monies and consents need to be completed and paid via Parentpay no later than Wednesday 8th June 2022

The cost of the trip is £20.00. We are asking parents to pay £10.00 per child and the school will subsidise the remainder of the cost. Unfortunately, if we don’t receive enough money the trip will not go ahead.

We are looking forward to an exciting day. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries.

Yours faithfully,

KS1 Crew

What a tasty Tuesday!

This morning in Crew Nursery we talked about different foods that we might take on a picnic, we all agreed that the most important part of a picnic are the sandwiches! 🥪

We then explored making sandwiches ourselves and enjoyed eating them in a Crew picnic at snack time.

LKS2 Biscuit Tasting

LKS2 had a very fun lesson where they were taste testing different biscuits. The aim was to think about what types of flavours and textures we liked the most, evaluating whether we would eat them again or not and the rating out of 10. We put to test 5 different biscuits – garibaldi, custard cream, shortcake, Bourbon and malted milk. It’s fair to say there was a mix of opinions, but most loved custard creams the most. Years 3 and 4 loved sharing their opinions and debating why some biscuits were better than others.

We will now collate our data for each Crew and put them into a bar graph. Our charts will show the favourite biscuit of Crew Marsh, Flaherty and Gerrard.

A busy day in Crew MI

We have had a busy but productive day in MI! We thought more about our reading text ‘At the sign of the Sugared Plum’ and looked at a variety of inference type questions which focussed on the first chapter. We worked well in mini crews to explore the questions, using the text to support our answers.

We then spent some time preparing for our SLC thinking about our howls and making pledges to help us move forwards. We are really looking forward to sharing these with you next week.

In maths we worked hard to explore decimals. We all did really well on our fluency questions with many of us moving onto reasoning and problem solving questions.

Our crew howl score is continuing to improve! Keep it up Crew MI.
