We really challenged ourselves in reading today. We used the text well to answer different comprehension questions and ensured we had a positive attitude throughout, even when we found questions a little hard. Great resilience MI 🙂

Today we looked at a Newton meter and measured the force acting on different objects. We worked collaboratively to do this and used the scale to read the amount of newtons.

Using our knowledge so far we then thought about what we could do to test gravity. This became our aim. This was what we wanted to find out. We then thought about what a hypothesis was and its purpose. We thought about how this would help our investigation. We then wrote our own hypothesis.
From here we took part in the investigation testing out our aim and hypothesis. You can see us in action below… We were all shocked by what we found out!

Today we started to explore and discuss forces in our expedition lessons. We watched a variety of different clips to understand what a force is and the different types. We then became active and showed both gravity and friction in different ways. We then used the knowledge we had gained to create our own anchor chart for our working wall on the different types of forces. We showed great collaborative working and supported our partner well.

The children had the chance to taste porridge this morning. It was lovely. Like the three bears we had to wait for it to cool down so while we waited we spoke about the different toppings.
Once cool the children tried chocolate chips, honey and strawberry jam on top. As a crew we then created a bar chart to show which was our favourite topping.
We have enjoyed taste testing this morning.

Crew Godley had a wonderful time yesterday on their scavenger hunt collecting autumn treasures! We had a very colourful day!

The children in nursery today were set a challenge to collect and see lots of objects linking to Autumn. We worked as a crew to collect leaves, twigs, conkers and feathers. We saw puddles, wriggly worms and even spiders webs! We had to be be kind to the animals and our woodland environment. The children loved exploring and wanted to bring everything they could see back inside to explore further.

KS1 have been working hard, to get smart in maths. We been exploring place value and how numbers in the number system get bigger and smaller.

This week in Scottys Heroes, in our mini crews, we built shelters in the forest. We developed invaluable team working skills and thoroughly enjoyed embracing the outdoors!

LKS2 have loved their scavenger hunt in nature and creating a wide variety of art, after completing several challenges!
