EYFS playground is ready!

The area is finally ready!!

We would like to invite you to a stay and explore session with your child at either 8.45am or 2.15pm on Monday 23rd May.

Feel free to attend either session with your child. Staff will be around to speak to and guide children into school in the morning and then out of school for home in the afternoon.

You will be able to look around our exciting new area and explore the wonderful equipment with your child. We will be greeting all parents and children at the normal blue gates (front of school) at both times, where the ribbon will be cut and the area will be open for the children to explore.

The children will then be dropped off and picked up from the main blue gates after the opening.

Important information

The new equipment installed is specifically designed for children working in the EYFS (between 3 and 6 years of age). This means that unfortunately, older children are not permitted to use the equipment due to height and weight restrictions. We kindly ask that when dropping off and collecting your child from the EYFS, older siblings DO NOT climb or play on the equipment due to health and safety reasons. We also ask that EYFS children do not play on the equipment before or after school. The local park is a short walk away if your child would like to play on park equipment out of school hours. To ensure that the new equipment is only used during school hours by EYFS children, members of school staff will monitor the playground and ask children to come off the playground equipment if they are seen playing on it. We thank you for your cooperation on this matter.

Thank you for your support, we look forward to seeing you on Monday!

Scoot to school! 🛴

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am delighted to let you know Carcroft School is participating in a Scoot to School scheme funded by Doncaster MBC. The school has received 20 scooters and helmets and scooter storage. These will be available to be used in school time by all pupils.

To celebrate the start of Scoot to School we are having a Scoot to School Day! It is a fun day that encourages children and their families to come to school on their scooters. We would love you all to get involved so if your child doesn’t have a scooter you can walk, cycle, or skate to school instead.

We know there are some things that make it more difficult for some pupils to get involved. If you would like to discuss more about your child(ren)’s specific needs, please contact (insert name) and we will make sure there is a way your child can take part.

Scoot to School Day will be taking place on Thursday 19th May 2022

What activities will be taking place on Scoot to School Day?

Wheel around school session: There will be a designated time and space for the children to be able to use their scooters, skates and bikes at school.

Dr Scoot: Active Travel Officer Chris Pryor will be carrying out scooter checks to ensure that they are safe and will make any minor repairs that are needed.

Launch the Scoot to School Challenge: each class will be competing to win the challenge by recording the most Scoot to School journeys over a 4 week period.

We really hope you can get involved and join in the fun.

Kind Regards,

Chris Pryor and Miss Marsh

Modeshift Active Travel Officer

Word Collecting

Today in Crew Welburn, we’ve had a focus on collecting adjectives for our writing. We are writing a description about our local area, so we took a walk to the park to listen to the sounds we could hear, and to describe what we could see. We wrote down loads of ideas and can’t wait to get writing tomorrow!

Big Royal Picnic

Carcroft School would like to invite our pupils parents/carers to the Big Royal Picnic to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

It will take place on Thursday 26th May 2022 from 1.00pm until 2.45pm on the school field, weather permitting.

Please bring a picnic and a blanket (no alcohol, vapes, smoking or dogs permitted on site). Children will be provided with a thematic lunch to bring out to the picnic. If your child usually has a packed lunch and they would like a dinner from school instead on this day please can you let Admin know before Tuesday 17th May and please pay on parentpay.

The dress code is red, white and blue (children can attend in these colours during the day). There will be a Royal Parade for our children if they would like to dress as a King or Queen for the day. Who will be chosen as the Jubilee Carnival King and Queen?

Activities will be taking place during the picnic, including;

-Design a crown

-Bouncy castle

-Face painting

-Music and games

-Ice cream van

-Tea and coffee
