Crew Fox blog week 6

Our HOWL average has shot up this week – our average was 2.8 🤩 … we’re getting closer and closer to a secure 3!

During The Write Stuff sessions 🖊, we’ve worked hard on using models of excellence around our room to help us get smarter 📕📝.

We’ve been using our text ‘Train to Impossible Places’ to magpie sentence structures in our writing… This is going above and beyond to get smart🌟!

We’re loving Scotty’s Heroes… pushing us to achieve our limits 🥵💪🏼!

This is helping us build stronger crew relationships❤️!

During expedition, we’ve been researching the history of the Doncaster Plant, using our historian researching skills…

Next week, we are aiming for a SECURE 3 HOWL average to end Autumn Term 1 on… 🤩. We are really trying harder with our concentration and are aiming to reach gold standard all day.

Happy Friday everyone, enjoy the ☀️ while it lasts!

Cooking Club

The children have been busy cooking and baking this half term! They have learnt how to make some fantastic dishes! Thank you Miss Holdsworth and Ms White for teaching us to cook!

Don’t forget tomorrow is #HelloYellow Day

#HelloYellow #MentalWellbeing

#HelloYellow is a big campaign, taking place every year on World Mental Health Day.

We’re encouraging our children and staff to all wear something yellow to help show all young people they’re not alone with their mental health. To support the mental wellbeing of our young pupils in the school we’re asking for a voluntary contribution of £1.

Dig out your yellow socks, neon tutu, bright scarf and join us in saying #HelloYellow Friday 8th October. This is non uniform day – so be as yellow as you dare!

Super Sensory Fun!

Children have been having lots of fun in breakfast club. Sensory circuits have been helping to set them up for the day.

Fun in Football!

This morning in Nursery we had P.E, today we played football!
We listened to Coach and tried really hard to control the ball and take turns.

Our P.E Superstar this week was Lily-Rose! Coach was so impressed with how she dribbled the ball, well done!

Star Bakers and Decoration Makers

Crew Nursery have been making birthday cakes, chocolate crispy buns and party decorations as part of their expeditionary learning this week.

Before making the cakes and crispy buns, the children explored the ingredients and described how they felt. The children liked the texture of the sugar best! After discussing the recipe, the children listened carefully to the adults instructions and measured the ingredients out carefully before whisking and mixing them together. The children showed good turn-taking skills throughout the activity!

Fun in the Forest.

The children have loved exploring the Forest area with Miss Haddock and Miss Ferguson this morning.

They worked in pairs to explore the area and find mini beasts. They took care to pick the insects up with tweezers and put them in a magnifying tub to look more carefully at their features.

We carefully put them back afterwards into their homes so they were safe.
