Crew Nicholson Daily Blog 12.11.20

Today the children have continued to show great enthusiasm and they have all impressed me by working hard in many different ways 🌟 Today we have been bakers and made owl buns 🦉 This was a perfect opportunity for lots of learning and discussion. The children thought about their answers to questioning such as ‘where do eggs come from?’ ASDA was the most common answer 🙊 Carrying out simple activities at home such as baking, colouring or looking at books can provide so many opportunities for speaking and listening development. Encourage your child to speak in full sentences and ask them questions to deepen their thinking.

The children have all shown great resilience today practising putting their coats on and doing the zip independently. This is something we are hoping to have cracked within the next couple of weeks 🤞🏼 If you practice every day before you set off for school, they will pick it up very quickly. Sometimes it is easier to do things for them yourself if you are in a rush etc however just spending a couple of minutes helping them to become independent is a huge step in their development. Keep up the great work and as always thank you for your support 🌟

See you all tomorrow for Children in Need day 🐻💕

Crew Gerrard (12/11/2020)

Hi everyone,

My star moment today was cooking with the children, we have made squash pancakes. Everyone had a go at flipping the pancake and making the recipe. This was a real crew effort and was lovely to be a part of. Tomorrow is taste test….. let’s hope they taste as good as they look.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.5! 🙌✨

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow AGAIN, Crew Marsh need to make sure they are not being fussy in learning time tomorrow.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Smart hero today is Frankie!

Frankie has tried super hard today in her writing and math lesson, she has made sure her worked looked neat and this has not gone unnoticed.  👌✔✏

Our Get Smart hero today is Chloe!

Chloe has been consistent since joining Year 3. She always listens to and takes on board the feedback given to her daily. I can really see progress with her writing and I love reading her book because I can see glimmers of her personality coming through in her writing.
