Help us to stay safe! HANDS - FACE - SPACE

Crew Longley – 13.11.2020

Another fantastic week, we have been dancers, mathematicians, cooks, writers and fund-raisers. We have really  worked hard to continue our kindness process.

Today’s HoWL average 2.9

Our HoWL target is: 3

How can we develop  Continue to focus on reading the question and making sure we are answering it correctly.

Howl Hero

Our Hero today was Shiloh. She has really worked hard to develop our new music skill this afternoon.

Learning Legend

Kayden has really blown our socks off. He has not always found learning easy. However, this year has been determined to get 3’s and is now starting to show the true Kayden. My favourite memory is seeing the massive smile that spreads across his face as he realises that the learning is easier than he thinks and that he is quite a whizz with maths when he is in focused mode. I am sure Kayden really will get smart this year, even if he does it with the odd grumble!

Well done Kayden!

Handwriting Golden Ticket

Kayden was also our Golden Ticket winner. We chose him for a double-whammy because he has tried so hard to improve his handwriting and was proud to show us every day.

Homework

A whopping 14 /16 this week completed their homework.

It would be nice to see everyone receive their lucky dip next week

Thank you!

Another great week in Crew Shields even though we have missed Mrs Lowe being in with us. Thankfully we have had Miss Hart supporting us and she has been amazing. Thank you so much. Crew Shields have had a lovely day taking part in some Children in Need activities and completing our next Expedition hook. They had the opportunity to make cupcakes using pumpkins. This was to encourage children to think about food waste, for example, at Halloween when pumpkins are thrown out when the flesh could be used to make things such as pies, cookies, pancakes or bird feeders.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.8

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this Next week?

Next week, Crew Shields need to make a conscious effort to ensure that they are being kind to each other. This includes thinking about how their actions impact the others around them.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be kind hero today is: Georgie

Georgie is a superstar! She is polite, respectful and extremely helpful to everyone in Crew Shields. She supports her peers in learning and is friendly towards everyone she encounters. We are really lucky to have Georgie in Crew Shields.

Crew Marsh: 13/11/20

Today has been lovely to spend time with the children and painting for our newspaper articles. The children put a lot of time and effort into their artwork and as a result they are looking fab! 👌💕

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.7! ✨✔

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.2

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Next week, Crew Marsh, again….. needs to make sure that we are leaving the classroom tidy! Miss Smith and I have had to tidy up tonight. 😢

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Smart hero today is Preston!

Preston has worked really hard all day to make sure he is getting smart. Well done Preston!

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 12.12.20

Take over Thursday 😵

After a CRACKING 🥚🍳 day, Miss Clarke was so proud of Crew Elmer she’s hijacked the blog! 😬

Star moment of the day: ⭐

As part of our expedition and thinking about the question ‘What is the most valuable gift we can give, we have been discussing homelessness, what it would feel like to be without a home and what would be the best gift to give homeless people. We generated a list of ideas such as, food, shelter, warmth, and money. We collectively made pumpkin (butternut squash) bread with the intention of giving it to the homeless shelter. As part of COVID-19 restrictions, however, we were unable to do so and instead have chosen to gift it to Crew Marsh. 🎁

This is of course if I don’t eat it before tomorrow as it smells delicious and I haven’t had my tea yet! 😂😋🍞

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.3

Well done on keeping above minimum expectation which is 3! Let’s aim for even higher tomorrow!!

This HoWL target is: 3.3

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer needs to focus on saving their chattiness for crew play to help them work hard and get smart.

Today’s HoWL hero:

Todays HoWL hero was Frankie for her super focus on learning! Even with the busy and hectic afternoon we’ve had, Frankie’s concentration never wavered. Great work Frankie! Keep up the good work! 👏👍🙌

I’d best hand the blog back over to Mrs Elmer for now before she notices! 🤫 See you all tomorrow! 🖐

Crew Thiede 12.11.20

Thrilling Thursday

Highlight of the day

Today we had a Diwali dancing session with Coach Shelly! 🥻She was blown away with the enthusiasm we showed and how well we performed! Fingers crossed we can share our video soon 🤞🏻

We also began to make our diva lamps ready for our celebration at the end of term. 🪔 we can’t wait to show you them when they have been painted!

HOWLs

Today our HOWL score was 3!

Another great day Crew, well done!

Today our HOWL heroes were

🌟 Work hard – Harry

🌟 Get smart – Charlie R

🌟 Be kind – it was too difficult to pick just one person today after our fantastic effort in dance and throughout the day! Well done to the whole crew, you did yourselves and us proud!

Crew Boswell – 12.11.20

From ‘the best reading session ever’ and a ‘really fun’ writing session to thinking about homelessness and soup kitchens, we’ve had a great day today.  Apologies for the slight delay in coming out this afternoon, but we were putting the finishing touches to our butternut squash and bacon soup as part of our new expedition.  I know the children were disappointed that I didn’t cry when chopping the onion but hopefully they’ll be proud of the soup we’ve made when they have the opportunity to share it tomorrow!

Don’t forget it’s Children in Need day tomorrow so pyjamas, yellow or spots is the order of the day!

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.3

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

I wonder if…

I wonder if we can have a great end to the week and beat 3.3 for our daily HoWL average by focusing on one area that we want to improve.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our HoWL hero today will have to wait until tomorrow to find out who they are!  We ran out of time with the cooking so will need to ask what the crew thinks in the morning, sorry.

Crew Godley Daily Blog 12.11.2020

 Thursday ✔

Today we all children were working hard, ‘getting smart’. In maths today we used our prior knowledge to solve some tricky maths problems including ‘one more’. We then extended our learning by exploring ‘one less’. We used cubes to explore the concept of one less and then deepened our understanding by using a number line.

HoWL Hero

Today’s HoWL hero goes to, Ates. Ates has been working really hard to show that he is getting smart. He has come into school with a great big smile on his face and settled well into crew circles with his peers. Well done Ates, keep up the great work ⭐️
