Today in Crew Shields, we have enjoyed working on equal groups in Maths. This allowed us to make links with out multiplication and nearly everyone accessed a reasoning question today. This is amazing! I am very proud of the learning attitude we had in Maths today and hope this continues for the rest of the week,
Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9
Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0
How can we develop this tomorrow?
To improve further, Crew Shields need to ensure they are actively listening and not fiddling.
Our Get Smart hero today is Georgie!
Georgie is being very proactive with her learning because she is constantly practicing the skills we learn in class at home. She has even been teaching her little brother and has brought me in writing, maths and science learning she has done in her own time. Georgie clearly understands that to get smart she needs to practice at home. Well done Georgie!
Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:
Work hard: Kelby
Get smart: Sophia
Be kind: Chloe
🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.1! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.
Well done Crew Kent 👍
Fun Friday!
Highlight of the day
It was so lovely to see all the children all cozy in their pyjamas and snazzy in their spots today! 🛌🏻 Everyone did an amazing job helping to the Carcroft Crew towards raise a fab fundraising total for Children in Need.
Highlight of the week
This week we have been learning all about the Hindu festival of Diwali. The children have learnt about the story of Rama and Sita as well as making diva lamps like at the end of the story. 🪔 Our favourite part of this was our Diwali dance session. Keep your eyes peeled for This Week in KS1 for all the pictures! 🥻
We also had some really wonderful conversations in Crew this week about remembrance. The children showed how mature they are becoming by asking meaningful questions and showing respect throughout.
HOWLs
Our HOWL score today was 3.1. This means that our weekly score is 3.1! Well done Crew 👏
Today our HOWL heroes were

Friday ✅ Another fantastic week in Crew Godley. Today was Children in Need, the children looked fantastic in their pjs and pudsey clothes 🐻💛 We had some lovely discussions around how we could help those less fortunate than ourselves. I’m so proud we have such caring and considerate children in Foundation stage. SJ and Shania blew me away with their suggestions, I often forget our children are only four and five as they as so caring and considerate of others.

We have started practising our production which will be shared during the Christmas period. The children have already learnt one song this week which will make you smile 😊 compete with makaton signs 🥰 we are so proud of them and we can’t wait to showcase our final expedition piece. Although we won’t be able to do a Christmas performance, we have come up with a plan to get round this so we can still get into the Christmas spirit🎅🏻
Don’t forget to bring your homework sheets back on Monday and there will be treat jar rewards for those that have completed it!
Have a great weekend everyone 💕
Another good week for us! We have continued to develop our HoWLs and have even extended our skills when looking at how to reduce waste with some basic cooking skills when it came to the start of our new expedition of learning. Our Children in Need day today was also a lot of fun and we ended the day with a rendition of Mamma Mia. Play it at home and see for yourselves!
Today’s HoWL average is: 3.2
Our Weekly HoWL average is: 3.1
Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0
I wonder if…
I wonder if the start of our expedition this week has inspired anyone to try their hand at some baking or cooking over the weekend. There were a few that sounded like they were going to try to!
Today’s HoWL Hero:
Our rollover Work Hard HoWL hero from yesterday is Troy!
Troy continues to develop in confidence and continues to focus on his own learning and his next steps to help him to understand problems he comes across, especially in maths. It’s hard to ask for help sometimes and it’s great to see that Troy isn’t afraid to do this anymore. Well done!
Our Be Kind HoWL hero today is Maddie!
Well done for a great day, Maddie! She has listened to others and has worked hard to ensure that everyone in our crew feels valued and is a friend to all. She has also shared some thoughtful praise to another crew when providing feedback.
Learning Legend:
Freya!
What a week back it’s been for Freya! She has listened to feedback and has worked hard to act on it. She takes pride in her work and makes every effort to produce beautiful work which, coupled with using feedback to reach her ME, is helping her to get smart. If this wasn’t enough, she will always try to be kind to everyone and often uses her confidence to help to resolve differences when they occur. Thank you for showing us how to be better versions of ourselves, Freya!

Have a lovey weekend everyone!
If you are superstitious, Friday the 13th would be expected to be something like a horror film but we have had a cracking day in Crew Wilson and not a bad guy in sight!
We have had a great week, rounded off by a lovely comfy day in our pyjamas for Children in Need and have definitely earned a rest after all the learning we have completed!
Highlight of the Week:
I am so lucky to have such a fabulous crew that collaborate fantastically and help each other out all the time. My highlight of the week is the kindness I have seen in our classroom, from helping with work to making sure no one is left out at playtime, Crew Wilson have gone above and beyond to ensure they are working together as Crew, well done! I also want to give a shout out to the whole Crew for their fabulous dance skills in our Diwali dance session (video available on our expedition website:

Howl Average:
Ended the week on a solid 3.5, a big improvement from last week. If we keep on displaying our Howls in the classroom we will be at 4.0 in no time!
