Wonderful Wednesday ✅ Nursery have blown me away today with their fantastic enthusiasm towards their learning 🌟We continued celebrating World Nursery Rhyme week by singing another one of our favourite counting songs ‘5 Little Ducks’ 🦆 The children are really getting good at counting using songs. Singing is such a great way to learn and fun too 🎤

During Literacy we looked at the story ‘The Gruffalo’ again and all I can say is WOW! The children used the story spoons to get into character and repeat phrases from the book. We have only been looking at this text since Monday and I cannot believe how well they have remembered specific vocabulary from the story. Fantastic work 🌟 We then went into mark making and drew the mouse. They produced some beautiful drawing and as always, they were so proud of their work and all put in so much effort.

HOWL Hero

Being Kind – Charlotte

Charlotte quite often takes on the role of mother hen and she can often be seen helping other children fasten their coats or find their peg. She is so caring and kind, well done Charlotte 🌟

Crew Gerrard (18/11/20)

Hi everyone,

Today was a really enjoyable day in Crew Gerrard. The children have been fantastic with their effort to work hard and have really wanted to make sure that they do their best. They have shown a great desire to learn new things, such as factors in maths. We need to make sure that we do this consistently. It was difficult to choose the HoWL heroes for today and they are:

Working hard: Ellie May🦸‍♂️

Get smart: Amelia 🦸‍♂️

Being kind: Hassan 🦸‍♂️

Our HoWL average was 3.3!

Well done and make sure that you come back refreshed on Friday! 😆

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 18.11.20

Wild Wednesday! It has been another crazy day in Crew Elmer today! The children have been very busy learning about all sorts of different things today!

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today’s ‘Star moment of the day’, has to be completing the Multiplication Tables Check online with children. Normally the children do this independently on their laptops but today I got the opportunity to speak to them and complete this on a 1:1 basis. Some crew members got some excellent results such as Harry who scored 23/25! 🤩 It has also enabled me to see which times tables some children need to work on in ‘Fix it’ time next week. If any parents would like to know which times tables their child needs to work on then drop me a Dojo message and I will let you know!

Todays HoWL average is: 3.3

Well done Crew Elmer! We are doing really well at keeping above the ME of 3! 👍

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.4

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Some crew members need to make sure that they are being really honest with their HoWL scores. It is hard for me to share my opinions on the scores given as I only see a snap shot of the day so I just hope that we are all being honest. If you have been talking when someone else was, or said something unkind to someone then that is unkind and should be a ‘3’ not a ‘4’. Remember that 4’s are only awarded for excellence! ⭐

Today’s HoWL Hero:

This afternoon was very busy in Crew Elmer so for the first time we actually didn’t have time to listen to any praises 😕 However, Miss Clarke chose Esme for ‘working extra hard’ and I had to agree with this as Esme has been doing a lot of extra work at home including writing out her times tables, writing a newspaper report and reading every night including the weekends. Great work Esme! Well done! 👏🙌👍⭐✏📒📝📚

Crew Marsh: 18/11/20

My star moment today was watching the children be create their newspaper articles, it was so lovely seeing how much pride the children had when writing out their work. It was lovely to see everything pull together.

Average is: 3.3 😊

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.7!

How can we develop this tomorrow?

On Friday, Crew Marsh need to continue to work on their fidgeting.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Smart hero today is Lottie!💕👏

Lottie has been working really hard in class over the last two days and made sure if she is unsure of something she asks for help in order to get smarter. Well done Lottie, keep it up!!

Reminder: Have a lovely training day at home tomorrow, and cannot wait to see you all on Friday!

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 18/11/2020

We have had a tremendous day in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the day:

We have been investigating candles as part of our expedition learning. Today our task was to create a labelled candle design, and the results were excellent! Lots of collaborative learning going on too, the Crew are so good at helping each other out when they are stuck, well done!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: April for her fantastic attitude to learning today, such a role model!

Get Smart: Perrie for asking for help in writing when she was stuck so she could finish her sentence.

Be Kind: Toby for assisting his friends with their learning without being asked, well done!

Howl Average:

3.35 – a very slight increase from yesterday but I’m feeling positive that we are still on the rise!

Crew Godley 17.11.20

Today in crew we were blown away by some of the childrens learning in phonics. One group moved onto reading “Ditty” stories using partner work and fred fingers. 🐸 The children we so proud of themselves. They started by believing they couldn’t read the sentences and finished believing they could! 🌟 Well done everybody.

We have tried so hard as a crew today to improve our HOWL scores. Some of us have managed to up our scores 1 point! Well done Crew Godson! 😁

Well done to Dylan who received our HoWl here for getting smart today. Dylan has tried every activity within the classroom, amazing!

Well done to Skyla who recieved our HoWL heor for being kind today. She really is a superstar and such a good friend to everybody.

Crew Kent Blog 18.11.20

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Grace 👩

Get smart: Chloe 👩

Be kind: Crystal 👩

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.1! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Well done Crew Kent 👍

Crew Shields – 18/11/20

Today Crew Shields have had a great day. It’s lovely to see our Howl average increasing throughout the week. The children have really enjoyed the afternoon because they have been extremely active. They had the opportunity to explore different styles of music where they had to find the beat. They also showed how they would move/dance to each of these types of music. There were definitely some interesting dance moves!

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.4

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields need to ensure that all members are participating even when it’s an activity they don’t particularly like.

Our Get Smart hero today is Reece!

Reece has been making more of an effort to complete his homework in the evenings. I know that this is huge for Reece. I’m confident that this learning at home will benefit him in lessons.

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 17.11.20

Wow! What a very busy Tuesday! Today has been non stop for everyone in Crew Elmer but we sure have all learnt a lot! 👍

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today’s ‘Star moment of the day’ had to be Hooked on Books! ✏📚📒 During the ‘do now’ task I was super impressed with the children’s knowledge of the text that we have been looking at as part of our previous expedition. They were able to tell me 3 things about Storm, 4 things about Tom and 5 things about mining. As part of our ‘Book Talk’ session the children were all great a finding quotes, phrases and words in the text around the lenses, action, noticing and taste. Great work today Crew Elmer! Well done! 👏🙌🤩⭐👍

Todays HoWL average is: 3.3

Another great score Crew Elmer and we are still on track for a spin on the wheel! 👍

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.4

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Some crew members need to make sure that they are being kind to each other at crew playtimes as we had a few incidents yesterday. Crew Elmer also need to make sure that they keep a positive attitude and are respectful to all crew members.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

I again got the privilege of listening to the children’s praises for each other 💕 As a crew it was decided that Jazmin would be our HoWL Hero for working incredibly hard in all lessons today! I also noticed during Hooked on Books and lessons this afternoon that Jazmin had her head down and was keen to achieve ‘Gold Standard’. Excellent work Jazmin! Well done! 👍⭐🤩🙌👏
