Hi everyone,
It’s been a really fantastic day in Crew Gerrard and, again, I am really proud of the effort that I have seen. The tests have been tricky, but I have seen a lot of perseverance. It was difficult to choose the HoWL heroes for today, and they are:
Working hard: Belle🦸♂️
Get smart: Tyler 🦸♂️
Being kind: Hassan 🦸♂️
Our HoWL average was 3.0!
Enjoy the extra break and I will see you all on Monday! 😆
Wonderful Wednesday! Despite doing test after test today we have still had some wonderful moments! 💕
Star moment of the day: ⭐
I am absolutely loving doing ‘Fix It Time’ this week! The children are really motivated to want to get smart quicker and this is shown in their great enthusiasm during these sessions. Today I was blown away with how on task, attentive and willing Crew Elmer were in wanting to improve their place value knowledge, enhance their arithmetic skills and ensure that their handwriting was correctly formed and joined. Well done Crew Elmer! 👏 I am sure that if we keep this up you will all be super smart in no time! 😁
Todays HoWL average is: 2.7
This is the same score as yesterday as despite Hannah returning our average still remained at 2.7. I think this is due to some children’s behaviours during tests today and also a few crew members being unkind at lunchtime today. Hopefully we can fix this tomorrow! 🤞
This week’s HoWL target is: 3.1
How can we develop this tomorrow?
Crew Elmer need to be focused during their final day of tests and also remember to be kind to all crew members at all times.
Today’s HoWL Hero:
Today Esme was chosen for HoWL Hero by Miss Hart and myself. Esme didn’t get involved in any unkind incidents at lunchtime and showed just how kind and mature she can be. I was also impressed with her enthusiasm during Fix It Time today and her willingness to want to improve her arithmetic skills. Excellent work Esme! You are a great role model to the rest of your peers in Crew Elmer! Well done! 🤩👏👍🙌⭐
Wonderful Wednesday 👏🏻
Highlight of the day
The children have worked incredibly hard on their assessments today. Thankfully we also had some time to rest and reset our brains so we could keep going.
This afternoon we went out into the playground and made rangoli patterns with chalk! We had some truly beautiful designs! Did you see them at home time? Which was your favourite? 💮
HOWLs
Today our HOWL score was 2.9
A little bit of a dip so tomorrow we need to be really focused on our HOWLs so we can reach this weeks target.
Todays HOWL heroes were
🌟 Work hard – Harry for a brilliant effort in his assessments
🌟 Get smart – Preston for always doing his best to reach his expected standard
🌟 Be kind – Milena for always using her manners
Day 2. Our toy of the past today is the Crayola crayon.
Did you know that during their first 40 years, each and every Crayola crayon was rolled by hand?
Another strong day for us today and some great work throughout the day. Our highlight was during our expedition where we learned a little more about the Sikh’s sewa and what happens at the Langar.
Today’s HoWL average is: 3.1
Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1
I wonder if…
I wonder if we can continue with the positive attitude that we’ve been showing all week. Challenges are there to be overcome so it’s not a case of “I can’t do it” but “I can’t do it yet!”
Today’s HoWL Hero:
Our Work Hard HoWL Hero today is Harvey!
Harvey has had a good day today and this is down to his positive attitude throughout the day though. His stand out moment has to be not only the focus he has put into his times tables but his pride and delight in scoring a personal best during our weekly checks! Well done Harvey!
My star moment today is watching the children start their walk to the north pole! It felt like a a lot and I bet we all have tired legs now but we each managed to walk a mile!! 🎅🤶
Average is: 3.2! 🙌
Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.3!
How can we develop this tomorrow?
Again, I want the children to continue to make sure they are listening to every single step I am giving and following the instructions.
Today’s HoWL Hero:
Our Be Smart hero today is Preston!😁
Preston has been a superstar all week and has tried his best all day everyday! Well done Preston, you have worked so hard and it is showing in your test results. You really are getting smart!! ✔👌
Crew Mcloughlin have worked their socks off today completing assessments! Well done crew, your hard work will all pay off. Our HoWL heroes today then…🦸♂️🦸♀️
Nursery Advent Calendar song day 2 🎄🎅 This took 12 attempts but we got there in the end! We hope you enjoy it and well done to the children ❤
Come back tomorrow for Day 3 🌟
We have had a fantastic (and tiring!) day in Crew Wilson today!
Highlight of the day:
Today we walked to Owston Church to have a look at stained glass windows as part of our expedition learning. We were such superstars and followed instructions brilliantly, we were definitely a credit to our school! After our long walk back to school, in the afternoon we created our own stained glass windows using laminating pouches and tissue paper – the results were amazing! We were very tired after all our hard work so relaxed with a hot chocolate and ‘The Grinch’. We will all definitely sleep well tonight!!
Howl Heroes:
Work Hard: Our Work Hard Howl goes to Tia for her brilliant effort today, Tia was actively involved spotting things on our walk and had a positive attitude to her learning all day, well done!
Get Smart: This Howl goes to Jake for his brilliant stained glass window, he carefully thought about what he wanted to design and executed it perfectly, great work Jake!
Be Kind: This Howl goes to two of our crew today – April and Miami collaborated on a stained glass window after one of them got a bit stuck. They worked together so well and their final product was beautiful, well done girls!
Howl Average:
3.5 We have maintained our score again today, well done Crew Wilson! One day left till the end of our week, lets see if we can get a spin on the wheel!
We have had a fun afternoon learning some new dancing styles. We have learned some African and Bollywood dancing. Even Miss Shields has learned something new. I’m excited to see these skills develop over the next couple of weeks.
Today’s HoWL average is: 3.0
Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0
How can we develop this tomorrow?
To improve further, Crew Shields need to ensure they are listening to instructions to ensure they know what they are doing.
Our Working hard hero today is Ava!
Ava has been working really hard in all lessons to ensure she is listening carefully. This really showed while completing some of her assessments this week.
