Keep up the great work Crew Ferguson!
Y5/6 Netball tournament
We have an exciting opportunity for 9 children from Year 5/6 to take part in Campsmount’s netball tournament. This event will be held on Wednesday 24th November in the afternoon. Letters will be handed out tomorrow. Any one interested will be asked to attend extra training sessions which will be outlined on the letter. If your son/daughter is interested in attending this tournament please can you make them aware that I will be coming around with letters in the morning.
Thank you Miss Marsh 🙂
Our School HOWL Heroes
This morning, all children across school who have achieved an ‘Awesome’ or ‘Great’ average in their HOWLs this half-term joined to together in the hall to celebrate their success and receive a special celebratory postcard.
It was great to see all these children together – you will see just how many there were in the photo below – to congratulate them on how determined they have been to Work Hard, Get Smart and Be Kind.
Our HOWLs help us to become the very best versions of ourselves and are so important, so it is great to see so many children achieving an ‘awesome’ or ‘great’ HOWL average. I can’t wait to see how many children we are able to celebrate with for achieving the same next half-term.

Crew Tucker Weekly Review (15.10.21)
Wow, what a busy last week getting to know Crew Tucker, before we become Crew Gerrard! Â
Our main learning this week was our experience day around Afghanistan. We wanted the children to experience what a typical day could be like in Afghanistan, we researched where Afghanistan is located, the capital city and how to say hello in Pashto and Dari. This experience day is in preparation for us to answer the second half of our guiding question: Coming to Doncaster: Why then? and why now? As after half term children will be looking at why people move to Doncaster and seek refuge.Â
Watch out for our experience day video and the recipe for Afghanistan biscuits.
Have an amazing half term – rest up well, get lots of sleep and have lots of fun!Â
I really can’t wait to be your teacher when we return and I know that you will all miss Mr Tucker. We’ll have to make sure that we really impress him with our learning.

Crew MG 15/10/21
Wow, what a busy last week!
We have had a lovely last learning week in Crew MG, however we are sad to see Mr G move to his new crew.

Crew MI 11th-15th October
Crew MI have had a very busy week! In writing they have continued to work hard on their Harry Potter narrative which is now complete! The progress they have made has been incredible. We have tried really hard to use varied adverbial, relative clause, coordinating and subordinating conjunctions and speech. As the unit has progressed, children have become much more confident when using their purple pen. They have acted on feedback, upleveled different sentences and edited their work. We are extremely proud of the writing produced.
In maths we have continued to work on our addition and subtraction skills. We have worked on using a written method and tried to solve problems where their are missing numbers. This caused us some challenges however we were resilient and never gave up. We also worked extremely well with ours peers to support each other when answering these problems.
In Reading we set up a conscience alley where we thought about positive and negatives about a topic. The children really enjoyed this and came up with some great ideas for debate!
We hope you all have a lovely half term and we look forward to seeing you all back in school in 2 weeks.

Key Stage 1 Walk-a-thon
Across KS1 we are hoping to raise enough money to fund a community defibrillator, as part of the expedition ‘What will I do to be a hero in my community?‘.
The children will be bringing home their sponsor form today ready for the sponsored walk on Thursday 11th November.

Crew Godley Praise
Crew Godley have shown they are getting smart this week, writing some fantastic independent stories. Charlie’s absolutely blew us away with his imaginative start. We celebrated this in Phase Assembly, we can’t wait to read the rest of the story.
