Happy FriYAY! 🙌

What a week it has been! Honestly when I thought about returning to school after Christmas and the New Year I did not anticipate the training day on Monday then Borris’ announcement and then to experience dual remote learning and in classroom teaching! This is my first lockdown experience in school and I really hope that it is the last! I must prefer having my crew in person! #missyou #wehavegotthis #crewelmer #lockdown21

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be our Expedition lesson this morning. This week I have slowly been introducing the Romans to children and explaining that this will be our Expedition focus this half term but today I was blown away as the children completed their KWL grids to show what they already know and what they would like to find out. The children listed some really interesting and thoughtful questions. Well done Crew! 🙌😊⭐🤩👏👍📝✏💻

Todays HoWL average is: 3.1

This is an excellent HoWL average to finish off a crazy week! Well done Crew! You really are proving that we have got this! 🙌👏👍⭐🤩

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.3

How can we develop this next week?

All crew members need to ensure that they are either ready to learn in the classroom or online from Tuesday! I am hoping that we will get lots of 4’s next week! 🤞

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Jazmin! Jazmin was chosen by myself for consistently being on task. With having fewer children in the classroom and a lot of children accessing learning online meaning that the classroom environment has been very different this week. However, Jazmin has adapted well and remained on task. She has worked incredibly hard today and even when she has struggled she has maintained a positive attitude and asked for help. Excellent work Jazmin! Well done for coming to school and for trying your best! This is going to help you to make lots of progress this half term I am sure! 👍👏💻🤩⭐😊

Reminders:

Homework is going to commence from Monday so please can you support children at home with completing this. The children will also be expected to read at least 4 times a week as usual. For those children doing remote learning this will be added to Google Classroom for you. Please ensure that it is submitted by Friday!

PE is going to resume this week and will take place on a Tuesday afternoon. On this day children may come to school in their PE kits as they did last half term. Please make sure that children are in warm comfortable clothing as this lesson will take place outside! A dojo message has gone out about this. Please respond through Dojo if you have any questions or queries. Those children working from home will be supported by Miss Hart to complete a series of Joe Wicks work outs! 😅🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💪👟

Another lovely day of in school and online learning!

Today we continued our Fire Dragon writing! 🐉 The children thought about how the dragon was moving and its actions. We created some lovely writing. In maths we consolidated our column method for addition. 🧮

HOWLs

Today our HOWL score was 3! This is a big improvement thanks to more children engaging with online and in school learning.

Today our HOWL heroes were…

✨ Work hard – Preston for returning to school with a positive attitude

✨ Get smart – Rome for working beyond his expected standard

✨ Be kind – Darcie for kindness online

Crew Marsh: 8/01/21

My star moment today was how everyone in Crew Marsh completed all of their learning tasks, showed they could focus on their learning and therefore produced some beautiful, neat work in their books. This has been great to see! 👍✨✨

Average is: 3.0

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0!

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh need to continue to be more mindful in putting their hand up tomorrow rather than getting out of their seat, this is something as a Crew that we need to be mindful of.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart hero today is Preston! 😁👌

Preston is a superstar in math lessons! He has blown me away with how much arithmetic knowledge he has remembered and is able to apply to a range of questions. He can also do this at a good pace! Well done Preston! 👏🙌😊

Crew Fox blog 8.1.21

What a great week we’ve had in Crew Fox. In the past three days, we’ve achieved so much progress – we are overwhelmed with how smooth the online learning has gone. All children have accessed the same learning and today we reached 100% attendance – AMAZING. We hope this continues next week, super work by all.

Thank you to parents for ensuring children are logged in on time, this has helped with the smooth transition from morning task to crew and into the days learning.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 8/1/2021

What a brilliant end to our first week back in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the day:

My favourite part of the day is quickly becoming our morning crew sessions, especially now we have our online learners joining us via Google Classroom. It is lovely to see how the Crew involve their friends who aren’t in the room when sharing their thoughts and feelings and playing our Crew games, well done everyone!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: Dalton for his fantastic attitude to learning in our Read Write Inc lesson, well done!

Get Smart: Finlay for following instructions first time every time, keep it up!

Be Kind: Bobby-J for being kind in the playground and letting others join in with his game, well done!

Howl Average:

3.5 – a slight dip in the average due to absences but we our whole crew challenge is for fab fours across the board next week, watch this space!

Crew Kent Blog 8.1.21

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Roxanne

Get smart: Deacon

Be kind: Sophia

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.6! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Tremendous Thursday! 😊

Another great day in our crew today! 👍 We managed to either get everyone in school or learning from home today except for two crew members so that is a massive achievement and has really helped us all to have a successful day!

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be our reading lesson. Reading has been a little bit different this week but I was really blown away with how many children wanted to read aloud including those at home. It was lovely to have everyone involved and to listen to each other read. The children were also amazing at answering the different questions. Extra well done to those who completed it at home and managed to not only get all of the questions right but also submit their answers! 🙌👏🤩✏📝💻

Todays HoWL average is: 2.9

This is a great score! Excellent work Crew! Well done! 🤩⭐🙌👏👍

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.3

How can we develop this tomorrow?

I think if we can get all crew members either working online or in the classroom tomorrow then this will boost our score up to help us to get the minimum expectation which is 3! I am sure we can do this tomorrow crew! 🤞

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Leo! Today was the first day that Leo joined us from home. Leo only received a laptop this morning and he instantly got the laptop sorted, logged on and was the first to join our live chat. He also managed to navigate his way around Google Classroom (with a little bit of help from mum and Miss Hart 🙊) and completed all of the work set. His attitude has also been excellent all day and this has helped his first day to be a success! Great work Leo! 👍👏💻🤩⭐😊
