Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog Post 7.10.2020

Crew Welburn have been working really hard today ✔

Highlight of the day:

Today, we have had our phase assembly. The children were so eager to get up in front of the phase and tell everyone about their expedition learning. Well done Crew Welburn 👏👏

Our HOWL heroes are…

Work hard: Harriet

Get smart: Harrylee

Be kind: Elijah

Our HOWL average was 2.9 today…Let’s aim for 3 tomorrow!

Crew Marsh: 7/10/20

My star moment in class today is litter picking at the end of the day. The children loved picking litter off the school field. They got dressed up in the proper equipment and picked litter using a litter picker.

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.3

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh needs to make sure they are working hard on their learning and showing this by completing work.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Kind hero today is Jessica!

Jessica has tried really hard today to make sure she is being kind to her peers. This has been amazing! Jessica has also learnt to apologies if she has hurt someone’s feelings. Well done this is really grown up!

World Mental Health Day

On Friday 9th October we’re going to mark

World Mental Health Day by supporting @Youngminds

We’d love it if our children and staff would wear something Yellow

      We’re asking for a voluntary contribution of £1       

which we will be donating to

Young Minds in support of the amazing work they do.

The children will be doing some activities in their crews about being kind to yourself and others
   They will be creating a ‘Carcroft Wellbeing Wall’   
which will be a rainbow hands with 5 things that make the children happy

Help support the young minds of our children and wear yellow

Daily Blog 7.10.20

A  wonderful Wednesday in Crew Flaherty today. Well done everyone.

HOWLs

Our HOWL average for the day was 2.7. A little lower than yesterday, let’s see if we can improve it tomorrow Crew Flaherty by listening carefully.

Work Hard

Billy – for working hard during Cojo this morning and supporting his Crew.

Get Smart

Archie – for always listening to his Crew and adults. Archie always follows instructions the first time they are given.

Be Kind

Chase – for helping children in his Crew at lunchtime.

I wonder who will be our HOWL heroes tomorrow.

Crew Kent Blog 7.10.20

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Chloe 😊

Get smart: Crystal 👩

Be kind: Skyler 🌹

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.2We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Well done Crew Kent 👍

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 06.10.20

Terrific Tuesday! 🤩 (As suggested by Sienna!)

Despite it being another wet day today 🌧 and having a timetable change and a few interruptions including photographs 📸 we have had a successful day in Crew Elmer! 👍

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today I praise how hard children worked in ‘The Write Stuff’ today to piece together a diary entry from the mining era. The children were also great at identifying the key features including the date, dear diary, introduction, past tense, key facts, feelings, who it was from, informal tone, paragraphs etc. Great work Crew! 👏

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.7

This is a little bit lower than yesterday but I feel that this is down to several children in our crew being really honest about being unkind at lunchtime today. I praise your honesty Crew Elmer. 👍

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that we are continuing to ‘be kind’ at all times especially at play times and lunch times as this seems to be where most problems are arising, especially when it’s wet. Remember our rules for ‘playing kindly’ at crew times. 💕

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Crew Elmer nominated Laila for being our ‘kind’ ‘HoWL Hero! I praised this young lady for her kind comments during PE today when children were evaluating each others dens. Her praises for Kacey-Leighs den were lovely. 💕 Lots of crew members also said how lovely Laila had been at break and lunch times which was also pleasant to hear. Well done Laila! ❤🙌👏👍😊

Crew Boswell – 06.10.20

Our star moment of the day was our step back in time as we ventured down the mines and read a diary from a child miner in preparation for our own work.  Everyone worked well together on the tasks and there were no accidents or children falling asleep in the tunnels!

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.0

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1

I wonder if…

I wonder if we can continue to show the amazing support for each when we see someone struggling with something.  #wearecrew

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Work Hard hero today is Ryan!

Ryan has oozed positivity and determination today.  It has been great to see him refuse to give in when faced with a challenge and his contributions to discussions proved that he was entirely focused on his learning today.  Great stuff!
