Crew Elmer Daily Post 21.10.20

Happy Hump Day! 🙌

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today I have been blown away with both the quantity and quality of the work produced in ‘The Write Stuff’ today. This was our last sentence day for this half term and the children really impressed me, I really do think they saves the best until last! 😁 Great writing Crew Elmer! More of this next half term EVERY sentence day please! 🤞📝✏

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.1

YAY! 👏 We are still doing really well with our HoWLs this week! At the start of the week, I had my doubts and was worried that we would be on 2’s but I have been really taken a back that children have been really kind to each other and have really shown me that they can work hard and get smart quicker! Keep this up Crew Elmer! 🙌

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that EVERY member of our crew is achieving 3’s across the board! We mainly need to focus on lunch times in the hall and some of the girls being kinder to each other please. 💕

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Again, Crew Elmer had lots of lovely comments about each other including our HoWLs but also yet again we couldn’t decide so to keep it fair we had a vote and the winner was… Rowen! Which was well and truly deserved! He has been working really hard in ‘The Write Stuff’ and ‘Reading’ today and Miss Hart and I were really amused with his attacking and defending skills in PE today, as well as his little dance moves! 😂 It was lovely to see his beaming smile for once in PE as this is often a subject that Rowen finds difficult as it is very ‘busy’ but today we all recognised how much he participated and enjoyed his little self! 😁 Happy Rowen = Happy Mrs Elmer, Happy Mrs Elmer = Happy Crew Elmer! Winning all around! 🙌

Crew Nicholson Daily Blog 21.10.20

We have had such a busy day in nursery today! We have continued to explore Autumn and it is lovely to see the children enjoy their learning. Our pumpkin pictures are nearly finished and today Miss Nicholson brought in some pumpkins for us to look at. We passed them round, talked about the colours, the texture and where they grow 🎃🎃The children did really good at speaking and listening and used some fantastic vocabulary such as ‘smooth, cold, shiny, bright’. Tomorrow we may explore the inside of them! Watch out, it could get messy!

We used some of the leaves we collected yesterday to practice our fine motor and our cutting skills and gave the leaves a haircut! The children loved this and really worked hard to hold their scissors in the right way.

Some children then used the playdough to make Autumn pictures, such as giving a hedgehog a nose and rolling balls of playdough to make conkers. Manipulating playdough is a great way to help strengthen our fingers for writing!

HOWL Hero

Being Kind – Koa

Koa showed kindness in different ways today and showed me he is working hard to improve his HOWL average. His friend was poorly and whilst waiting for them to be collected, Koa stayed with him and wanted to make sure he was okay 🥰 Koa also helped me tidy the classroom after snack time without being asked. Well done Koa ⭐️
